Root White Widow

so do i have to use ap2sd with 4.6??????i am getting insufficient space when trying to install apps and dont really want to use apps2sd

I am currently running KaosFroyo, but would like to install this ROM instead. I am a complete NEWBIE and don't know how to go about installing a different ROM over the current one. Are there more things to install other than the ROM itself for White Widow? If so, how do I go about installing them? Thanks for any help that comes my way.

Hmm, people have been reporting problems trying to uninstall stock apps in White Widow.

About your battery, do you have SetCPU installed? I suggest setting up profiles.

I do have SetCPU installed On

Main: 768 max 245 Min.

screen off: 245 245

temp > 43* C : 245 245

Its just constantly dropping if the screen is on and im not doing anything.

I suggest setting the Min of your main profile to 480 or 528 because 245 to 768 is a big jump and kills the battery.

Hey guys, to delete astro I first used titanium back up to uninstall the app then used ES file manager to access the system data folder where a sub folder labeled apps is, enter that as find the com.metago.astro?i believe that was it, you can tell...any way long press and delete. I haven't seen the app since

my phone will not connect to my computer. when i plug it in, it says charging, but never gives me option to mount sd card or even notify me of usb debugging connected. have rebooted, rebooted into recovery and toggled usb mode, everything. nothing works. any suggestions?

cornbread, when that happens to me, while the phone is on I go to settings then sdcard menu then unmount the card using the option in the menu.after that reboot the phone then plug it into the computer.hope that helps.did for me

the unmount option is grayed out .....

this is so weird. it tells me how much space is available on the card, i can view my pics and everything thats on it, but i cannot unmount or mount the damn thing

o yea, crap sorry man. i think that as to do with the apps2sd i believe..since all our apps on there it can't unmount while on :(

sorry thats my bad i forgot!

I have used setcpu for the past 4 days and I have come to the conclusion. I like ww without the setcpu that i installed from the store.

When I first installed it, it ran crisp and clean. After 4 days it lags so bad I just removed it and rebooted my phone. I think it runs just fine without it. Anyone else notice this?

i have tried multiple things with the sd card problem. went back to a nand when i know it worked, didnt work. checked my gf's eris, it worked fine. pulled the sd card out of her phone, stuck it in mine, no luck. flashing another rom right now to check it, but im not getting my hopes up. seems like a hardware issue now.

For some reason I am unable to do a nand + ext even after a complete wipe and flash. I can do just a nand or a bart but get an error everyone I try nand + ext.

This might have been asked before in this thread but I am going to ask it anyways.

Is white widow going to be upgraded to cm 6.0.x anytime soon or are we going to just have to use celbfroyo if we want to use CM with android 2.2?

I just tried CyanogenELB 2.8 last night and so far it's pretty much the same as White Widow, except much higher MFLOPS (~2.8 on WW, ~4.8 on CELB) and the proximity sensor works perfectly when in-call (that was the deal-breaker for me). It didn't include the 3D Gallery though, but I already had the .apk so no big deal. Other than that, everything is pretty much the same.

Any chance of these fixes in WW?

you can't fix MFLOPS ( it is much higher because of the speed improvements of android 2.2 which is why i was asking if WW was going to be upgraded) but i am pretty sure that proximity sensors could be fixed but i am not sure how. it might be some upgraded thing in the phone.apk files but that is just a random guess.

No I'm not using the Froyo version (CELB Froyo 1.5), I'm using the 2.1 version (Cyanogen ErisLightningBolt 2.8). The firmware, kernel, mod version... everything is exactly the same as White Widow 4.5, which is what I was previously running. I'm not sure why there is such a significant difference in MFLOPS. But the proximity sensor definitely works perfectly though, not sure how/when it was fixed.

I am waiting until the last few bugs get worked out of the Froyo ROMs before I switch over.

the difference in mflops is JIT. WW has it disabled by default. if you enable it, you can hit 4.8+ mflops, but its much less stable

and for my connecting to PC problem, I have pretty much determined it's a hardware issue. i have formatted the card, tried a differetn card that was working fine in another eris, changed ROMs, tried toggling USB from recovery, every thing. and nothing seems to work. not sure what else to try.

and on top of that, im iffy on sending it in for replacement, because my moisture sticker is kinda pinkish. but i have never got this phone wet.

Wasn't JIT enabled by default in 4.5, and disabled by default in 4.6? I used 4.5, so I was under the impression that it was enabled...
