Root [ROM] ApeX 1.2 Series for Droid X - Functionality and Performance (12/7/10)

Just for clarity, I did not find BlurEmailEngine.apk in the v1.0 ROM zip, i did find it in the 1.0 removedapps.zip.

No go, email wont recieve push from my exchange server. It only gets new emails when I open the app and then it refreshes.
Before i go doing this I need confirmation my process is correct. These are the steps I am going to perform.

Terminal Emulator:
su
sys -rw
mv /system/apps/BlurEmailEngine.apk /system/apps/BlurEmailEngine.bak
mv /system/apps/BlurEmail.apk /system/apps/BlurEmail.bak
sys -ro

this will remove the blur email pieces.
this is where i stop, I dont have an email.apk from the v1 ROM zip file. where do I get it? I really need that v1 email app again.help please.
 
Cannot get my contacts to sync with facebook.
when I go into accounts and select facebook,it does nothing.I have facebook installed and logged in.Any suggestions other than SyncMyPix app?

EDIT: Went into Social Networking app and added my facebook acct in there. And after a few minutes it started to sync my contact pictures.
 
I know this is silly question but I just downloaded apex and it is in my download folder how can I move it to sd card, or can i get to it from clockwork sd/downloads?

They will not be there due to the data wipe. You will not have to pay for them again, google remembers you bought them. Download AppBrain from the market, set up an account, and sync with it. It's free, and one of the most painless ways to keep track of your apps. Once you've completed your changes and you notice all your apps are missing, redownload appbrain, and sync...you'll have the choice to download all your apps or one at a time.

oh! I didn't realize you were using the AOSP email app previously. That's easily enabled by running the following in the terminal emulator:

su
email -aosp
 
If you cleared data, then you have to download certain apps again, to get started. I'd d/l titanium and restore apps and data that you want to keep. That's the easiest way to start.

Ok got titanium back but can't find the z4root app in my app drawer or on titanium? do I need to download from market again? will i have to hit the root button again or will it automatically recognize im in root already? i found it in titanium my bad! do i restore app only or app and data?

don't restore it at all, this rom is alteady rooted.
 
is the blur alarm in the removed file list ?..if so which is it i dont see an alarm unless it has another name?

For people who are having the problem with the google voice search/commands not working give Vlingo a try, it's pretty much the same thing and can be found in the Market.
 
On that note, last night I tested all my backups of roms compatible with the leak and all of them have the Google voice search issue. I figured they would since my stock-leak backup had it but wanted to verify. I also used the system-only sbf and tested again but still no joy. I even reapplied the leak to no avail. My system, android, baseband, and kernel versions all match up with screenshots I was able to find of other users on the leak. Totally stumped why this is only affecting some of us and not everyone.

I had the circular blue in my last setup and thought it looked great with NexTheme. I do like the percentages inside too.

As for the other Blur apps, please be very certain they are on the root of your sdcard (not in any directories) and you are using correct capitalization (matters a lot in Linux!)

Oh wow! Thanks for doing all that testing! At least we know now that this issue isn't specific to ApeX.

now you can wipe that bead off your forehead and get back to work on NexTheme! ROFL Just Kidding Fab.
Been several days now on ApeX and I still love it! I've had it overclocked too and havent had a single random reboot. Which is funny considering I was getting them on "stock" 2.3.15. Good work Sir, Good work.

My AOL account is already showing under Accounts. But I can't login to it because the username text box is greyed out. I can only enter my password. I. Cannot delete the account either to try to re-add it.
