Root [BETA]Cyanogen!! Landed!!! :) Go get it![Updated 7/12/2011]

Right. The only thing we are behind on is the kernel.

I think it is funny, in an annoying way, that people get all uppity about 1% battery increments like it's the only thing missing.

While I wish/hope the real bugs get fixed soon, cvpcs has done a stellar job so far, so a little break from his hobby of helping us is well deserved.

things will come with time...they have it running...which is something nobody thought would happen at all...its stable...its just missing some features...

its easy to get impatient when you see the potential of CM7 and want it to be working flawlessly...but you have to look at it this way...Motorola HAS the keys to the bootloader and those guys get PAID...yet can't seem to figure out how to make an OS that runs flawlessly on the X...

If you guys see a post that upset you report it, don't react. Reacting and fighting put YOU in the line of fire.

On a personal note: This is my section and you guys are my friends. You know better. I'm disappointed to have to act as disciplinarian. Oh well.

Gotta say I'm loving the CM7. Been running pretty damn good without any major issue.
Note to the complainers of various issues:
Report bugs to the bug forum, don't complain
This is still a beta release and these are nightlies, not a final build
Don't make Steven upset or I might have to get involved,`and no one wants that

Now that the serious talk is over. Who else is LOVING CM4DX

I've been on it since release (I went back to .596 for a weekend for the video camera) and I love it.

I have also been on this since day one as well. I know the issues that are out there and I am fine with them right now. If I know I am going to want to record something in HD (will not need to until September) I have a back-up ready to go and will just spend a half hour going back to my previous set-up. However for the time I am VERY happy about my X. With CM7 on it I still feel we have one of the best, if not the best over all phone on the market, and we are coming up on it being 1 year old.

I've been on since day1 as well and I am very impressed. With the MIUI camera installed I have very little to complain about aside from video.

What's MIUI camera?

I just put on cm7 and camera doesn't work. Are you talking about a market app or the camera fix .zip camera?

The miui camera just shows a black view window, nothing shows up button the menu and shutter button.

Edit: I tried taking it out of wide screen mode and it works now.

Sorry for the stupid question. I've been off cm7 since Monday. Have there been any serious fixes, yet?

Question for someone with more Android knowledge than myself. I am suddenly getting horrid battery life. I dropped 40% in 3 hours with the extended battery. I downloaded the app Catlog to see what is going on. The Dalvik VM is constantly freeing memory. It is fluctuating between 40-60% free. Should it do this?

so i've installed the apk but how do i get to it and make it the default camera when using the camera button? for that matter how do i access in general because it's not in my app drawer?

It should be in the app drawer, it is called camera it just has a whiteish outline to the icon.

I couldn't get mine to default to miui so I just froze the system camera in TiBu. Renaming the camera apk in system would do the same thing.
