P3Droid says:

So it would like there are two vers of the prime one will hit vodafone the other verizon....9250 and i515 just a guess...lol

Seems like we don't have to worry about the phone we've been seeing in the video being a non-Verizon version. Vodafone is basically European Verizon. Same company.

DF is citing a "good source within the industry" who says that the Samsung Prime will definitely not release until Q1 2012. [Exclusive Rumor] Verizon's Samsung Prime May Not Arrive Until Q1 2012

i ain't buying it. they have to be talking about the bloated follow up to the Charge, not the Nexus device. after Apple fell flat yesterday, and that video leaked, and we have the Google/Sammy event next week - no way does Google not come through with ICS on a Nexus device right now!

Welp, they did the same thing to us during the event where they announced the evo. We were all expecting to hear about the Incredible. We didn't. There were a lot of angry people. I hope this is not the case here.

This is a talk about Verizon, not another mobile operators, Nexus will be announced for another operators next week, and it will be Nexus Prime. Verizon simply gets it since 2012.

just about any new dual core device that is released from here on out will most likely get ICS, eventually. the "advantage" to a pure Nexus device is that the updates for the OS come directly from Google. for other phones, the OEM's and carriers have to tweak the OS and the updates, to make sure it works with their custom UI's and bloatware. this takes time, and can lead to bugs and/or delays.

the other advantage is that a Nexus has an unlocked BL, which allows for easy rooting, custom roms, and oc'ing. but, most Sammy devices come with a relatively easily unlocked BL nowadays, anyway.

Thanks for that (and the other reply - haven't worked out how to multi quote yet!). I'm actually in the UK so I guess the Verizon issue isn't a problem for me, but does anyone know what carriers in the UK will have it first? I'm currently with orange so I hope it's with them. Otherwise I have to wait until December when my contract actually ends.
Now I'm torn between the two. Faster updates is good, and 5.3 inches may be just that bit too big, although I like the idea of the stylus for taking notes in class. But boy do I want ICS.

Thank you.

I'm not buying that rumor. No way in hell would they announce something in October and launch it in Q1. The momentum will have extinguished.

fwiw (hopefully not much) friend was told by a VZ store manager today to wait til later this month "some great stuff coming out", friend mentioned Prime and was told that wasn't it but couldn't say what it was.

Highly doubtful. There are just too many rumors talking about a release to Verizon within the next month. I hope it's not true, obviously.

True, the Oct. 11 event might be for a US version of the Note (given that both this event and the IFA event, which outed the Note, have the same slogan "Something Big is Coming"), but it still doesn't explain why it's a "Google Episode".

There are so many rumors flying around about everything. Remember the reports of the new iPhone 5 displays bubbling, and the iPhone 5 cases showing off the new angled form factor? And how it all turned out to be BS?

The longest-standing rumors say Verizon gets it in early November. I'm just going to stick with that until next Tuesday. Then I will be either very, very happy, or very, very pissed.

yeah i've already played with the thought that samsung and google are going to announce the global Nexus Prime (in the teaser they never mention verizon or something)... also i don't think that they will show an one-carrier-exclusive product to the open world... CTIA is not for the U.S only...

in spite of that i still hope that the global Nexus Prime will have 4G LTE onboard... LTE is the future and the nexus devices are meant to be the standart for the future, right?

No, it's the other way around. it will come to Verizon first with ICS (name to be determined), and then come to other GSM carriers. I don't care about that garbage DF report.

Haha, I see the "Verizon is going to screw us" sentiment is alive and well this morning. VZ_Wired, we need a pep talk again! LOL.

We've been screwed over by Verizon too many times to count. I've become so jaded I don't get excited over phones anymore because I fully expect them to go elsewhere. I'm like the dog underneath the dinner table hoping to get a nice plate of food but knowing I will only get table scraps.....

My guess is the Droid HD/Spydr/Razr or whatever it's going by now. A friend of mine whose dad works for Motorola told me over the summer that this would see an October release. Another possibility is the Vigor.

Indeed. however, this is Google's flagship. The nexus one and s both launched shortly after announcement. Verizon and motorola screwed the pooch on the bionic. I'd expect Google and samsung to have their act together.

The fact that it's a Google flagship is what keeps the hope alive. I am fully convinced if we were all sitting around talking about the next big android device that wasn't supposed to be a nexus, we would be screwed big time.

Disagree. As some friend posted before, it will be an international version of Nexus, and it will go to all carriers. If it is going to Verizon exclusively, Google and Sammy won't announce it, Verizon only .

While that is one sexy phone, I am sure the curve will take me a bit to get used too. Also, with it being that thin, who thinks this will come with the new 4212 Exnyos processor in it? I am hoping hoping hoping...and CK is the only one who can't answer this... :~) Just kidding CK, I like your reality in this thread of dreams....

I'm betting on the Exnyos 4212 processor for the Nexus, I know there are those that say no way, but it is said to be the processor in the newly announced Samsung Galaxy ll LTE HD and I think the Nexus is the LTE HD with a new body!

Time will tell

The more I read the more it seems we really have no idea what to expect;prime, note, vigor, spyder, or a completely different phone/tablet.

This is where the disconnect is. The real Nexus will be announced on the 11th and subsequently released shortly after. The SCH-i515 may just release Q1 or in November. 2 different phones.

If you are not on Verizon you have nothing to worry about in regards to getting the Nexus. If you are a VZW customer I wouldn't hold your breath on Verizon getting it.

What makes you say Verizon won't be getting it? All the other rumors I've heard so far suggest Big Red would get it first.
