Ruh-roh Shaggy....
DF is citing a "good source within the industry" who says that the Samsung Prime will definitely not release until Q1 2012. [Exclusive Rumor] Verizon's Samsung Prime May Not Arrive Until Q1 2012
i ain't buying it. they have to be talking about the bloated follow up to the Charge, not the Nexus device. after Apple fell flat yesterday, and that video leaked, and we have the Google/Sammy event next week - no way does Google not come through with ICS on a Nexus device right now!

just about any new dual core device that is released from here on out will most likely get ICS, eventually. the "advantage" to a pure Nexus device is that the updates for the OS come directly from Google. for other phones, the OEM's and carriers have to tweak the OS and the updates, to make sure it works with their custom UI's and bloatware. this takes time, and can lead to bugs and/or delays.
the other advantage is that a Nexus has an unlocked BL, which allows for easy rooting, custom roms, and oc'ing. but, most Sammy devices come with a relatively easily unlocked BL nowadays, anyway.

I'm not buying that rumor. No way in bell would they announcd something in October and launch it in Q1. The momentum will have extinguished.

Just look at the Bionic.

This is a talk about Verizon, not another mobile operators, Nexus will be announced for another operators next week, and it will be Nexus Prime. Verizon simply gets it since 2012.
Haha, I see the "Verizon is going to screw us" sentiment is alive and well this morning. VZ_Wired, we need a pep talk again! LOL.
fwiw (hopefully not much) friend was told by a VZ store manager today to wait til later this month "some great stuff coming out", friend mentioned Prime and was told that wasn't it but couldn't say what it was.
But that was a different manufacturer. I'm hoping Samsung learned from them and doesn't make the same mistakes
Just look at the Bionic.
Indeed. however, this is Google's flagship. The nexus one and s both launched shortly after announcement. Verizon and motorola screwed the pooch on the bionic. I'd expect Google and samsung to have their act together.
No, it's the other way around. it will come to Verizon first with ICS (name to be determined), and then come to other GSM carriers. I don't care about that garbage DF report.
While that is one sexy phone, I am sure the curve will take me a bit to get used too. Also, with it being that thin, who thinks this will come with the new 4212 Exnyos processor in it? I am hoping hoping hoping...and CK is the only one who can't answer this... :~) Just kidding CK, I like your reality in this thread of dreams....

This is where the disconnect is. The real Nexus will be announced on the 11th and subsequently released shortly after. The SCH-i515 may just release Q1 or in November. 2 different phones.
If you are not on Verizon you have nothing to worry about in regards to getting the Nexus. If you are a VZW customer I wouldn't hold your breath on Verizon getting it.
