Note from forum Admin, please read first!
Go into this thread knowing how large it is. Know that it is not all completely on topic. The OP, Steven58, will make a best effort attempt at keeping THIS top post as up to date as possible on current news on the device. You are welcome to post here or create a new thread with information you have. The new thread will be kept on topic. This thread is sort of a lounge-news type thing and off-topic talk is acceptable so long as THIS POST contains all the important information on the thread.

(Steven wonders how far off topic we can go... this is a ground breaking experiment.)
One of these posts from a mod isn't like the others. I plan to observe the rules of the thread, but if they've changed then maybe the first post above should be updated. On station, got your back.
Off-topic posts below this point deleted with extreme prejudice.
Nothing personal - but that's the way it's got to be.
This is now the Number One Thread on the Internet for user-vetted Prime News - let's respect that newcomers have a right to know, with less noise.
Cheers, many thanks to all for working with us on this.![]()

While 30 days has always been a good rule of thumb, during the Evo 3D launch, we tracked and noted several phones this year that had a little over a week's delay between FCC approval and launch.
Plus - those FCC posts are courtesy of leaks, and we don't always get them, so - you know.![]()

FWIW, sometimes it seems that when a few of us really get into talking chip tech (on topic!), other people get bored to tears. I guess there's a middle ground in there somewhere.
I can say that the specs posted this morning have 4 inaccuracies in it.

First of all I want to apologize to anyone who took my post this morning that was deleted by the Mods as being rude or inappropriate. I am not sure looking back at what was wrote how it could have been taken the wrong way but that it not my judgement and it was removed so again I apologize.
Second I have posted my opinions on lots of things in this thread and they are nothing more than opinions and as I said I will own them when the facts come out so that being said I am going to put my final opinion on what Specs I believe Verizon's version of the Nexus device will have.
I am going to use vz_wired's posts as my guide and attempt to go from there and put the specs down using logic and maybe if vz_wired feels generous he will chime in on my results...or maybe not, and that's OK.
We had BGR release specs on Oct. 6th that were less than stellar and most were disappointed including myself, I remember vz_wired tell us that we would be VERY HAPPY when the phone was announced. By the response of the members in this thread that was not the reaction so those specs must not be accurate.
Later that morning vz_wired posted this...
So lets start there...
#1 - One of the biggest disappointments seemed to stem from the Processor spec, it has long been rumored that the Nexus would have a 1.5GHz dual core processor and the TI OMAP 4460 cloked at 1.2GHz just didn't make us VERY HAPPY so as I have stated I believe the processor will be the exynos 4212 clocked at 1.5GHz that includes the PowerVR SGX543MP2 GPU that processor is produced by Samsung and I believe is ready and will be used in the Nexus for Verizon.
#2 - The next correction I believe will be in the Camera, maybe it wasn't such an issue with us in this thread but I believe it is a focus for Samsung and Google in the Nexus phone. I believe it will have a 8 MP rear and 2 MP front facing camera with Samsung's new S5K2P1 CMOS image sensor.
#3 - Next correction I believe will be in the Radio, some of the main issues we have debated in this thread is the idea of multiple phones going to different carriers and how that would impact the phones specs because of case size (thinness) I believe they will use the same case the larger SCH- i515 case and use its depth to include a LTE + Dual CDMA/GSM system so they only have to create one phone for the US markets and another for the global markets.
#4 - The last correction is going to be the Battery, I am not sure on this one but have two theories, either the Nexus will have a 2050mAh replaceable battery like we are are used to or there might be a chance that this device may go the route of the iphone and have a closed battery system and will need to be serviced for replacement if needed to save space within the case for the dual radios.
I believe these changes may just be the 4 that vz_wired spoke of in his post and if I'm correct I believe that the Nexus will in fact be exactly what he claims when he says...
One last bit of information I used to base my logic from...Samsung released the Galaxy S ll on the other carriers and for the specs to be anything close to those of that phone would not make any sense. But Samsung also announced the specs of the Samsung Galaxy S ll LTE HD for the Asian markets for Nov. of 2011, those specs I mentioned have all been rumored to be used in that phone and in fact that phone has the HD screen that nobody rejects will be in the Nexus device. I contend that the LTE HD phone announced for Asia is in fact the basis for the Nexus device.
Anything less than those specs found for the Samsung Galaxy S ll LTE HD device would be a step backwards for Samsung and Googles Nexus device.
So I believe the following will be the core specs for the Nexus ...
Again I own my opinion and will look back to this post to determine how close or far off I was once the announcement and specs are released by Samsung and Verizon when that time comes.

You should be able to search the FFC yourself for the info without waiting for it to be leakedI have done it many many times looking for amateur radio information.

So I did some poking.
Samsung says the 4212 GPU (unnamed) is 50% faster than the 4210.
The ARM Mali 400MP in the 4210 SoC is rated at 30m triangles/second.
The PowerVR SGX543MP2 is rated at 35m triangles/second.
Maybe it is another metric they are using...but the specifications there don't quite match...
I keep thinking about them cancelling the reveal on the 11th and I can't stop thinking of them saying "you know we really shouldn't drop this thing right now. Its just not right."
They must be holding onto some serious hardware to feel bad about unveiling it during this time of Mr Jobs death. I mean that's a HUGE decision and this reveal may be so newsworthy in the tech world that its in bad taste.
I mean you know they were going to try and drop kick the iPhone out of the news and came prepared in full battle dress. For human emotion to shape a corporate decision this phone must be truly epic and in bad taste to release now. That's pretty heavy if you think about it.
