A bit off topic maybe.........................was wondering why Apple gets away with all the law suits against Samsung?
I was thinking televisions................Samsung, LG, Panasonic, etc etc. They are all so much alike and i have never heard of any law suits in that market.

Is this just Apple trying to stay on top or is it just me? Apple is really putting a bad taste in my mouth over this crap.

The OP page (First post is the rumored specs), and said to be a 100% correct. But I am still counting on some of the info not be correct. Who knows

well there a couple of different specs in the op, both have wrong info in them. soooo..yeah :)

If I had a choice between the Nexus specs and the SGSII-HD.
I would go with the SGSII-HD. It is still possible that we my get both devices but thats a long shot.

The Galaxy name has more brand value than Nexus.

Samsung does a better job of marketing its phones to the masses and the Galaxy line of phones have the best reputation.

The Nexus line of phones isn't widely marketed by Google. Nexus phones are mostly known by developers and Android enthusiasts only, who still often times prefer the Galaxy S2.

I am not surprised that Samsung will want the Galaxy name first if it plans on marketing the phone, despite Galaxy Nexus being a mouthful to say. They are more concerned about promoting their brand than Google and have the history to back it up.

what are you talking about? ive been using the galaxy s for about a year and a half now and i still love it. bing? theres no bing anywhere on the phone. this sounds like a specific carrier issue, not anything to do with the phone itself. and what other problems? its a great phone!

Disagree, the 1st Galaxy S was to be avoided, IMO. Fatal problems with hardware and software, and being locked into Bing. I personally know of 3 people that defected to iPhone because they had so many problems with their Galaxy S that they were convinced that all of Android was flawed. If that's the way the 3rd Nexus is going to be, I'll be tapping away on the HTC Vigor.

Makes sense. I still believe that Google and Samsung had plenty of time to market the next big thing tons more than what they have done. NOBODY except us dig for leaks etc. People want it delivered right to them. Someone in the market for phones that is shoipping around cell phone shops will not know about the next big until it actually hits the shelves. Google and Samsung have huge bottomless pits filled with money. They should use that to hire a marketing team. Viral campaigns, tv ads etc. I see iPhone commercials everyday but never really a saw Galaxy S 2 or Nexus S commercial.

Wake up Google, Samsung, please

yeah i'm not sure what phone came with bing, i assume a verizon version? but the galaxy s line is by far one of the worst lines of android phones out there. i can think of at least 4 people, 1 being my wife, that have switched to the iphone after using that terrible thing. not even my favorite rom, cm7, has been able to fix the wife's captivate. between the terrible gps, bad battery life, and constant force closes and restarts...just...ugh.

obviously your milage will vary :)

Sometimes I go over and check out Androidcentral forums (lord knows why) and I have to say that this forum is head and sholders above them. I have never in my life seen more whinny little bit*hes. The mods are non-existant. The mods here are top notch...and we have a great group of contributors here.....Thanks for a great couple of weeks...and for another great couple of weeks to come..... end ass kissing.

the galaxy s is one of the, if not THE best selling android phones of all time. thats not just marketing, its a good phone. the gps issues are worked out, the battery is standard, and i get no force closes at all.

I think the sales are due to being on every single carrier. I think GPS issues, battery life, and upgrades left a bad taste in people's mouths. But it seems like they really doubled down on the SGS2. That phone got nothing but rave reviews.

Totally, whole-heartedly agree, M.

This is way above every other forum. I

I know not everybody's digging the Galaxy Nexus nomenclature, but once trunicated, Gnex does kinda roll off the tongue for use in forum posts.

I agree, lends itself to that truncation very well. Kind of like when the Incredible was shortened to Dinc... well exactly like that.

Sorry posted the music request before I read requests were moved.

On a side note I wanted it to be called Nexus Prime too. I don't hate Galaxy Nexus but IMHO I think Nexus Galaxy would be a lot betterbetter

Welcome to our new members!

Quickly - the tv biz has intellectual property lawsuits as a norm. They are always seeking injunctions then making deals, making Apple vs Android look a Cub Scouts meeting.

On the Galaxy S - let's all agree that sold well, was controversial for many, but is at end of life in the production cycle.

How about we agree to disagree about it and just move on, mmmk?

As for this being a Samsung branded phone - if true, Galaxy Nexus makes a kind of sense. In the past, Nexus was its own brand.

Google buys Motorola brand, Samsung gets Nexus brand? Like I said this morning, I'll bet the two deals are tied.

Gnex is as friendly sounding as Kinnects - I like it!
