Wait, am I reading this right? The iPhone 4S is 73.1 and the Galnexusaurus will be 29.3???

yeah. we went over this a long time lol. if gaming performance/fps is why you're buying a phone, the iphone is the phone to get for a long time.

it's not like there are going to be games you can't run

Hey.. friends, this is just about the most high maintenance thread around the device forums. All the yelling, cussing and expressed anxieties toward one another and the device.

VoidedSaint's, "you do realize this is just a phone" is on target. ;)

I want to lock this thread and issue infractions, as there are violations of user guidelines being posted at irregular but frequent intervals here. But the thing is, the thread is also full of useful info and also some pretty funny stuff. I'd like to see it continue without the guideline violations and noise. :)

Please have a look at our Zero Tolerance Policy linked in my sig, along with the User Guidelines.

Those results are sooooo bad that something is wrong. Maybe an early rc of ICS?!

I sure hope so as I see no point getting this over a SGS2 or even an iPhone 4s.

Well I'm not a gamer, but won't this frame rate affect other things, too? Will it affect flash videos, movies, browsing, animations, etc? Or is it just for games?

There was a post yesterday by someone that said the ATT version in Q1 2012 will have the exynos 4212. The post today from docomo looks like they're saying it's just the version they're using over there.

If there are different versions globally, like the SGSII, then why worry about what they're releasing in Hong Kong tonight? They'll probably show off the GSM version without LTE and VZW will announce their version later. Hopefully ATT/Sprint/TMo will announce their souped up versions earlier than 2012, but I'm willing to wait if it has bumped specs.

Seems like US carriers get their way with the hardware on these phones as long as the OS is stable. May have to hold on to my phone for a few more months.

Just take a look at the original page. It says up to 2 Gb microsd and up to 32microSDHC

外部メモリ:microSD最大2GB/microSDHC最大32GB

first post by the way :) Hi to everyone!

Is this correct? This and the current pics would imply the previous info was pretend.

Welp this is super depressing... i was expecting way way much more,Not sure what i wanna do now

The build.Type says userdebug. Though I'm not versed in benchmarks much anymore (because they mean absolutely nothing to me on a phone), I do know that if the kernel (native code) being used isn't built in release mode that means they probably have optimizations turned off.

I give my underlings (developers) hell when they run data building processes in debug mode. They are just wasting time. I've seen a 2 hour process (with binaries built in release mode) take 12-15 hours with debug binaries. You use debug binaries for... debugging.

So if they are in fact using debug binaries, don't worry.

We discussed this pages ago.

The benchmark is off-screen showing potential performance of the device, true performance of the GPU.

If the device updates at the typical 60 Hz rate, then the true maximum possible is 60 fps.

No idea what those benchmark to in the final device - with the screen on.

The rest of the benchmarks you posted Han show the Gnex responding with anything from 20 to 41 fps - how that will relate to your games, your use, etc, is anyone's guess at this point.

One number doesn't equal a full assessment.

And xtop is dead-on --- it's not the more advanced GPU found in the iDevices so those comparisons are no surprise.

Could be a train station poster designed to attract attention with real specs - or scheduled for update tomorrow.

Who knows?

We'll find out in about 12 hours or so.

You're right, EarlyMon. Thanks for the dose of realism. I guess there's no point having a heart attack before the official announcement.

So I just did a quick measurement, and there is no misprint on the size of the phone in the picture, it is really 136mm, wow that is a big phone.

Not really, we never saw any leaked images of anything but the 4S and its parts.

We're talking about rumored specs, not rumored images. The rumored specs did bounce around for the iPhone 4s, but then again so did the discussion regarding rumored images...
Right now we don't have anything factual from Google or Samsung. Seeing as how Verizon is just a peddler in this game, all rumors are open for my enjoyment. :-)

Wow just saw on droid-life that the rezound, razr (hd?), and nexus may all launch on 11/10. What a day that would be. At least we'd be able to compare them all side by side at the same time in hand, so we can make the right choice!

The screen will look amazing but I need to resist buying this phone, I don't think the SGX540 even with increased clockspeed will be enough, nowhere near enough to compete with the new iPhone 4S, not even enough to compete with Mali 400MP.

Also the lack of sdcard slot is something I can't ignore, why is nobody else but apple using the faster GPU's from PowerVR? :(

Look at it this way. What are you going to do with the powervr that you can't do with the sgx540 ON Android? What Android games will the SGX540 not be able to run? I can't think of any right now.

Hmmm. Based on the telemetry of info and discussion here, might we expect a Razr thin change of interest???

Joking, but still......

Some people in this thread seem ready to jump off the Galaxy Nexus train at a moment's notice. Have faith, people. It's just a phone anyway - if you don't end up liking this one there'll be another one. Geez.

Most of that isn't GPU accelerated, so having a weaker GPU isn't going to affect them very much. I can play flash just fine with steady, fluid framerates on my HTC Incredible. If the Galaxy Nexus can't achieve that, Google has messed something up in the last year and a half.
