Yeah, but like I said, no use in freaking out about something that is out of our hands. Just gotta wait it out.

If all else fails, there's the new Razr, right? :P

True...there are always other options. That's Android's best feature!

I know that people in this thread are nervous and excited so don't think I'm down playing the GNex but...

IF (damn, that's a big IF) other manufacturers will leave ICS alone, you may have many (and possibly better) hardware options in early 2012 that will offer fast updates and a stock ICS experience. Sucks having to wait if you are eligible for a new phone now but there will be tons of options soon enough.

A few of us are just standing by waiting. I haven't seen any of us freak out just yet lol

Keyword is YET :)

But yeah, I can relate. Been waiting a LONG time trying to get a reasonable future proof phone, while still holding on to my seemingly ancient Desire :/ Figure a Nexus phone will last me about 1-2 years. Hopefully everyone in the US can have a taste of Nexus and ICS in a timely fashion.

Couldn't have said it better myself!

The first Galaxy Nexus Review (ok not really a review obviously)

Samsung Galaxy Nexus Android phone review, specs and details - First Ice Cream Sandwich phone (Wired UK)

BTW, it states 32 Gb of memory (NON-expandable)

this is the excerpt about the camera:

"Back to the Galaxy Nexus, however, we weren't blown away by the camera. It's not especially bad, just unremarkable, and with the significant improvements in that department between the iPhone 4 and the 4S, it's a little disappointing to see so little progress having been made in Google's newest flagship handset. Happily, you'll be distracted from the quality of the images by a sweep panorama feature that's new in Ice Cream Sandwich, which automatically stitches images together across a scene."

ruh roh.....

Google and Samsung were unveiling the phone to the world, not just to the US. They didn't want to list the carriers in every country that support the device, because it isn't the focus of the event.

There is plenty of leaked evidence that the phone will be released for Verizon including information on Samsung's official site and official teaser videos.

Assuming that the Nexus comes to Verizon (which I believe it will) this is a 20 month phone! That's something that Verizon has not released for a while now.

I have the Thunderbolt and I was originally told that a 1 year contract wasn't an option on launch day. I called Verizon and debunked the idiot at the store and got my 1 year contract. Why? Because the Thunderbolt wasn't a 20 month device...it was a 10 month device. While my TB is serving me well, there is NO WAY I could keep this thing for another year!

The Galaxy Nexus would get you through 2 years and that is a BIG deal in my humble opinion... ;)

Night all. Been a good day. Two great new Android devices released and one former Bengal released with two first round draft picks in trade. Day couldn't have gone better unless we got actual release dates. But then again, if we got those today, why would we need to come here tomorrow?

I went in to the Verizon Store today to see if they could revive my Dinc. (they couldnt)

I mentioned i didnt want to upgrade because im waiting on the..(and she filled in the blank)"Nexus?"

I hope that means that they Verizon is getting it. I dont want to be let down again like I have with the original Nexus and the Galaxy S II.

Verizon tends to get watered down versions of the best android phones, unless Moto makes something groundbreaking. ugh..

Dont screw up this time Verizon!

with all the talk of a 16GB model and a 32GB model, do you think we will see different pricing options here? maybe 199 and 299?

There was a TON of evidence the HTC Merge was coming to Verizon, look how that ended up... :(

accesories, arriving at Verizon, Verizon inventory screenies etc etc

Ahh. Doubting Thomas to the end. I guess I have to admire that about you CK :D.

All I know is every rumor and leak point to VZW, and also that BMX alluded to a Halloween announcement and a 11/3 release in the poems way back. Still lines up pretty well overall, coming from a great trusted source, don't cha think? :)

Unless your phone is already dying, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to NOT wait a few months when dual core 1.5MHz processors are released on a 28nm processing node. Not only should these smaller processors consume less power, but they should allow for an overall thinner design. Logically speaking, a larger battery--if needed, would be less obtrusive.
ICS is great but the hardware honestly isn't. I'm going to hold off until an Android phone is released where both the hardware and the software are equally worthy of the premium price.

So when Samsung stated....the Galaxy Nexus will launch in November, first in the U.S., Europe and Asia, then in other markets.

I wonder which carrier in the US is getting it next month?

Not only should these smaller processors consume less power, but they should allow for an overall thinner design. Logically speaking, a larger battery would theoretically be less noticeable, then.

Quite frankly you can play the waiting game all the time, because a few months from now, something better is always there.

They would have mentioned VZW JUST LIKE they mentioned NTT DOCOMO if'n VZW was a done deal for release of the device pure and simple.

Pretty sure they mentioned DOCOMO because that was their audience. It almost came off as an off-handed comment.
