Precisely....nothing more than that. I should use that as my signature lol

Thank you for understanding bruthaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

A few things give some cred to release concerns on VZW, regardless:

1. VZW has been very vocal about not wanting unlocked FW devices on their network, due to repair cost issues and non-contract tethering.

2. VZW business model requires some VZW bloat, unless some special deal for Sammy.

3. VZW went out of their way to support the Razr and not even a token mention of the Nexus.

Still seems it is coming to VZW, but maybe items 1 and 2 are causing some confirmation issues.

There is no VZW bloat on the fruit phone

I hate to say it but the RAZR is looking pretty good. Anyone think it may be unlocked at some point?

Perhaps rooted so Titanium and other tweaks could be done, but since VZW is pushing for enterpise adoption, seems the firmware itself will be a tough one to crack.

I am SO SICK of waiting for Nexus and all this drama - I can't handle it any more! RAZR seems to be a perfectly awesome phone, and I hope to be in line early enough to get one. Here's my money, Verizon... give me a RAZR!

If we all do this, maybe Verizon will see that Nexus poses no threat to RAZR and will go ahead and release it so let's all publicly poo-poo Nexus :p

I am going to catch a lot of crap but....I think they need to concentrate on dual cores for a while to get the fullest out of them.

Also I think there needs to be MAJOR advancements in battery technology.

Ya same, but that was really not my question or concern. :p

Since I can't post links I'll just quote from the SDK:

So there you have it, devs can hide both the status bar and nav bar on the Galanexsaurus :D

Edit: Just noticed that with user input the nav menu returns so true full screen is really only usefull for videos and not games that require user interaction.
Very interesting. Thanks !

That's the usual. But a pure Nexus phone releasing at pretty much the exact same time as Moto's favorite is not a usual event. I don't think we know how this is going to play out.

Okay, guys (and gals - sorry BabyBlues for the snub yesterday :(), I've got a TON of work to do today, so I'll be pretty much out of it today.

Be nice, and don't kill CK.

Wink Wink.

Smiley face.

But wink wink.

No sad face - I was busting you. I know it's still a male dominated forum. :D

Another though I had is that Verizon might not even announce the phone. It might just be available one day.

Aside from geeks like us, Verizon might not feel that this device will bring new customers in like their exclusive RAZR will, especially since many different carriers will probably carry the phone. In their mind, they probably don't see the reason to put a lot of money into a device that can disable their bloat, and that most people who already know about the device, already know about the device. I think it will come to Verizon first, but won't be exclusive for long, and won't be marketed hardly at all by Verizon. The rezound and RAZR will be Verizon's darlings for the Holidays.

I agree with this 100%. the fruit gets the most love from them during new release. then they attempt to push you into whatever motorola has out or coming out. htc doesn't get nearly as much love - although they did do a very good job on the thunderbolt advertising.

I am so tired of Verizon trying to push re-designed Droid X's down our throats. I even told them that on Twitter.

I had a salesman tell me he was giving me to a co worker to deal with when my dad was buying his phone because I wouldn't even let him show me the motorola stuff out. Told him I'd rather go with a dumb phone. He looked horrified. It was one of my favorite moments of dealing with vzw sales staff.

Actually nVidia's quad core to come soon has a 5th core that only works once the quad cores are all totally shut down that is as powerful as the OG Droid, but is built with special low power transistors. This core will do EVERYTHING until you need more extreme performance. If this works as nVidia plans it could be one of the most power efficient processors on the market for standby type efficiency even though it will be pretty power hungry when getting exploited, but not way more.

I would tend to say you are correct though unless it's something real novel like this and I think most others are going to focus on dual cores for awhile. Also unless you will only exploit the quad core here and there and then really appreciate it with the Kal El it probably isn't going to be for you. But that's kinda how I use my phone normally if I am not near an outlet anyhow.

"Don't Do it" I would have to write..........
Oh No! Another one falls from the lines and goes into glory. RIP.

Saw this on Woot today, thought I'd drop it in here. :) Just thinking this might be handy to bring as a backup, especially if it's an issue getting backup/extended batteries because of the NFC chip. they're normally $33 + shipping on Amazon, but have very good reviews from what I've seen.
duracell 1800mah rechargeable li-ion battery pack

Beat ya to it :p

Sorta OT, but related to battery life these seem to be a good deal to pick up if you're worried about phone dying and would be near somewhere without an outlet.

Woot

Beat ya to it :p

Crap. :p That's what I get for skimming. :D But anyway, I'll be grabbing it, especially since my husband may be getting a TBolt (he wants an Android phone but he's not as much into tech so it'll come down to price vs what's still relatively new) so I figure they're good to have.

I bet we will see a quad core phone by spring. Or one will be announced I should say

Probably.

Another side thought on this is everyone giving Sammy and TI a hard time for not using a better GPU on this. A side effect and reason the higher numbered and powered GPU's PowerVR and other market is because they are bigger and have more transistors and can in turn use more power also as you go up in model number. Apple probably uses a slightly upgrade one as much to offload stuff from the main processor as to increase 3d performance as the GPU will be more efficient for lots of tasks. ICS makes strides in this direction, but probably doesn't go nearly so far that the bigger GPU can give a net power efficiency gain as apple might get close too with more offloading.

General point being that bigger and more capable doesn't always help overall experience.

If you can do it now they are running the deal for $149 plus an extended battery.
