***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Most consumers don't even know the RAZR and Nexus exist right now. The RAZR campaign will ramp up and people will be going into Verizon to purchase it. You can release a Quad Core w/3 GIGS of RAM in the middle of it all and people wouldn't even know except us.

Releasing any phone in the beginning of a huge marketing campaign for another handset is quite risky. They will more than likely wait until the initial wave goes through to release the Nexus. I honestly could see them releasing it in December. Will that happen? I don't know, but if it did I for one wouldn't be surprised at all. Rezound is right around the corner too so who knows what kind of fanfare that one will get.

Maybe they will just drop the Nexus in the middle of it all knowing it will get lost in all the hype. Who knows. We'll find out though.

I get around 23 down and 5 up by me. but dont' expect to see 65mbps as more and more people get LTE.

I got so pissed when i was get .14 mb/s , I really have an feeeling that all the people on att with iphones are really causing the drag in data dl speeds. I wonder if iphone gets lte next year , will it rape the lte network also?

I hope you're wrong on the December release just because I don't want to have to wait an extra month. But you definitely have a point there.

Best case scenario (for us) would be a soft release early November without much advertising. Then wait till the RAZR hype dyes down and have a big advertising push for it in December. That would be a win win for us.

December... haha.

I had pizza for lunch today - thin crust with spinach, onions and mushrooms. It was delicious.

Thanks for the article on the stock. Doesn't affect me directly but is nice to see different info than speculation.

Time to leave work and head home. Play nice boys and girls.
I'll be back (that's a promise, not a threat)

The plastic doesn't bother me... a device doesn't have to be made of a titanium alloy to be high-quality. I worry about the hardware issues I've read about that people have had with Samsung phones - as well as my experience with the Galaxy Tab. I really really REALLY wanted to like the Galaxy Tab 10.1 but I figured three chances for them to get it right was enough. Interestingly enough, I have a Samsung 58" plasma that's about two years old and has been 100% perfect since the day I first turned it on.

This will be a significant purchase and I'm making sure I do my due diligince, that's all.

If you search enough you can find build quality issues on anything, even the iPhone. The biggest complaints that most people have had with Samsung are TouchWiz and waiting for updates. Neither will be an issue on a Nexus device.

HTC would sell a lot more phones if Sense had an off switch like it did on the Touch Pro2. You could literally shut it down, not just hide it.

Some of the older Sense phones had this option. Everything after the DInc is a different story.

I wonder how much say Google and Samsung have in the release date? Although Verizon may make more money per phone with the RAZR, surely Google and Samsung have some say in the matter other than manufacturing deadlines.

I wouldn't be so sure.

I'm sure they have input, but I can't see anyone telling Verizon when they have to release something.

No but if they've already agreed to take delivery of them there's no way Verizon let's them sit in a warehouse and collect dust for very long.
