Girlfriends sister breaks her blackberry, goes to verizon wireless store to replace the phone. Contract wasnt up and didn't have insurance on the phone so went with the cost effective method and got dumbphone. Verizon wireless employee proceeds to remove unlimited data plan that was attached. Girlfriend pissed becuase she didnt want unlimited data removed (they are on a family plan), and won't be able to get it back.
True story.
Well, I never said you wouldn't lose unlimited data. But for the record my friend just did the same thing with an iPhone, and they added his unlimited data back on for him (I think it was only 2 weeks or so before he got the new iPhone). But I don't know what the policy is or if they just made an exception for him. I *do* know that there is no contract with the data and you can cancel it without an ETF, which was the original question.
