This throws all kinds of red flags with me.

Well I doubt they would be able to change the main lines account data plan anyways.. seeing how they are upgrading the second line which shares.

Also if your going to upgrade your phone through the Costco website do it through Internet Explorer or Firefox.. CSR said their site has lots of problems with Chrome.

Edit:

BAHHH!!! Shoot myself.. the phone is now out of stock @ Costcos!!

I think missing Black Friday sales is already an epic FAIL.

Now we're all just sitting back to see how much farther they can stick their heads up their asses.

Idiots.

This is not conclusive, but I Facebook'ed Verizon's Director of Marketing, and this is his avatar:

Has the phone arena camera comparo with the 4S vs GN been posted?

The camera isn't a selling point for me, but this was a nice comparison I thought.

here

I'm the same way. I've taken plenty of pics with my Dinc, and they were well more than adequate for my purposes (posting on FB, Picasa, sending pics to friends/family etc.) and I have been impressed with the Gnex's shots in light of all the bashing it seems to be getting.

Just so I'm clear on this.

Google/Samsung announced the release of the GN in November for Europe, and elsewhere soon after.

I may be having a memory fault but did Google/Samsung officially announce it was coming to the US in November?

And if it was officially announced for November in the US has there been any official announcements rescinding it?

I have read all the posts in this thread but for some time now if I put anything here into memory, something has to make room for it and leave. Its called A.G.E.. Yes, I'm pushing towards Senior Citizenship.

Matias Duarte from Google said on the Verge that we would be able to purchase the phone in November. That was about a week ago. Google has yet to come out and rescind that statement.

Google/Samsung never said it afaik. Verizon was the one that told us it was coming.

Also does anyone know how long it takes before a phone which was ordered online (Amazon) to show up in the VZW system? I've never bought a phone online before so I don't know what the process is really like.

I added a line for my girlfriend's dad when Amazon was selling the Bionics for a penny, last time. It DIDN'T show up in my account at all, and therefore, wouldn't activate. Spent a lot of time on the phone with Amazon and Verizon and they sent me to a corporate store to switch out the 4G SIM ... Verizon had to set up a new line, and then port the old number in... blah blah blah ... end of story: It took some extra effort, but Verizon refunded me my activation fee, for my trouble, and for some reason, the line is already eligible for an upgrade. I call it a win.

While I am waiting for news of the Nexus, I have been thinking about Android devices like the Samsung Galaxy Player. I got one for my wife recently, but I am wondering about getting a couple for my children for Christmas. One thing holding me back, however, is the limited memory (512K), when most smartphones now seem to be coming with 1GB.

A couple of posts earlier today got me wondering about the idea of buying used/refurbished smartphones and using them as WiFi-only/player-type devices. If I had Verizon-compatible devices, I could activate them later (if Verizon ever gets a family data plan), and I might be able to get more capable devices. If anyone has thoughts/advice, I would be happy to hear it.

The other point is deciding where I might buy them. Beyond eBay and Craigslist, I recall discussion earlier in the thread about good places for selling smartphones (to get cash for getting the Nexus). Not having a smartphone to sell, I did not pay much attention at the time. I thought there was a firm starting with "S" but have not been able to find it yet in the thread. Again, I will appreciate any pointers.

Yeah.. Google/Samsung announced the Gnex coming to the US in November. They announced at the Hong Kong event.

I'm assuming this has been posted but didn't see it in the last few pages.

It would be sweet if VZW did this, but I think the demand would be even higher. I hope after all the laggage that there is plenty of stock.

I guess this ad is showing up on some android sites.

Thanks Baby Blue & Gents. I seen the Verge video (my brain forgot that one) and watched the the Google event but do not remember the US thing there.

So....... to me it would be careless of them to not come forth with a delay for November announcement. With that in mind I'm optimistic about a possibility of it still having time to drop this month.

Hello post turky day Nuxuses!! So, is the add still runnning? Any updates or denial from Big Red? Am I actually dreaming right now?

i jumped all over this! i have my ne2 discount ($30) plus another customer loyalty discount ($30) plus this extra $25 - bring the GNex down to $215 (maybe even $115 if that $199 price surfaces again/sticks) and that's pretty reasonable.

Yeah thanks actually! Only one more person needs to use the link I gave and I get it for free apparently...I'll take that!

No one has anything to say about the $199 price ad?

We talked about it earlier. No response from Verizon. Verizon CSRs know nothing about the ad. So, we kind of left it at that. That could be 16Gb or 32GB, we just don't know.

EDIT: As far as we know it is legit, but Verizon is acting like it never existed
