Never heard of paying for things in vending machines, but Nokia is a Finnish company so it is possible.

Will That Be Cash or Cell Phone? - Wireless Payment Systems Might Mean Dialing Inot Your Own Wallet - NYTimes.com

gonna post this again, and not hide it this time. Because it's fun to read about the state of "mCommerce" in the year 2000. I was a system admin/network engineer/webmaster/all around computer guru in an office, when this came out, and it's weird to think back.

If i find a pouch I like i may not use a case, but I will be ordering a TPU car to have on deck for bar nights or other rowdy adventures.

I kept my OG naked except a screen protector, but it wound up pretty smashed, the slide out keyboard is loose and crooked and there are gouges in the metal at the corners from being dropped. Which always happened at he bar.

so after much debate, and indecision, I think for me, I need the option of a new case when called for, but mostly she will be nekkid :) and the Sena pouch is very classy so i think it might be the one for me!

Wanna compare OG gouges? ooh, that sounds dirty.

I went naked, except for the first couple of weeks, on my OG... I like my docks, but I've gone and ordered a TPU, for those special occasions.

Keep dreaming. If VZW wants unlimited gone, it'll be gone...month to month certainly isn't going to save you. Only people on contracts will be safe for the time being because they won't want to give people a way out.

As further evidence of this, one only needs to look at what Sprint did recently to customers on tethering.

They didn't have to sign a new contract, Sprint just changed it and said take it or leave it.

Glad you liked it! Now, did you see the original version or did you see Lucas' newer version where Greedo shoots at Han Solo first?

The original.

And for the record - I can't say I've had a better non-date minutes a really long time. Awesome company, Steak, Star Wars and Wawa coffee. Only thing better would have been my Nexus as well.

Wednesday preorder huh? Figures, the ONE day this month that I'll be tied up all day with work...

You can't call from the bathroom to preorder? :D

where are the devices in stock? we have heard they are in stock in some wharehouse out west(supposedly, without photo proof) and they are waiting for more... but we havent had one bit of proot that any store actually has them. and unless they get them by tuesday at the latest, i dare say we are all set up for heartbreak on the 8th

It's refreshing to see some logic here. I agree, I've never seen any proof whatsoever that these things are in stock anywhere in the U.S. at any warehouse. Yet many seem to think they'll magically appear in stores without a shred of evidence to support it.

As I've said before, people just love to set themselves up for one disappointment after another.

Thanks Han. That definitely makes more sense if there is going to be a pre-order on Wednesday. It wouldn't make sense to have a one day pre-order. Is it really worth pre-ordering though, if you probably won't get it til Friday anyway? I thought somebody mentioned a while back that Verizon had gone to 2-day shipping (used to be 1-day)

FWIW, Verizon did offer free overnight shipping on the Razr I ordered for my wife last month. Received it the day before store availability as I've done with other Verizon pre-orders.

Come on guys. VZW obviously has given the okay for the devices to be on displayed in the Samsung store, we have had reports of the devices being in stock, a release or preorder next week is pretty much a done deal in my honest opinion.

I think this is spot on. Way too much imminent release stuff is out there, from official press photos to the display model in store.

Agree. before all we had was rumors but with the device showing in samsung stores must mean it is close. They are not going to have something in store weeks ahead of time and have people keep asking about it without being able to buy it.

Why can't they have a regional meeting and release a phone on the same day? The regional managers don't have to personally deliver each phone. Nor does the meeting, which Han's sister said was pretty standard, have to be about the SGN? I'm pretty sure the people at VZW have other things to talk about too.................

Logic tells me you don't have a meeting about a new phone on the same day you launch that new phone. To me that's just pure logic.

Phil(editor from androidcentral) had a screen shot he posted showing #ordered and said his source told him that a number of them have already been shipped to stores.

incorrect. phil had a screenshot of an order supposedly placed for 124000 units, and said that appx 24000 had been received and that 60000 were still on the way, so what about the other 40000? and he said the 24000 were delivered, but didnt say they were received by retail stores, and going off of ow verizon usually distributes phones from their own various warehouses, i took it as him meaning that appx 24000 had been received by the warehouses, not stores

Well they could be having it. I mean it is the regional managers which really wouldn't be selling the phones anyway. If the employees already have training they would be fine to sell the phones while regional managers were away at a meeting.

i agree, but we have to remember its a big shipping season for the likes of UPS an fedex, and things are a little slower this time of year. if VZW was planning on a thursday release, they would be shipping out early to ensure all of their corporate stores receive them in time. so if we dont have photo proff they have been sent or recieved by tuesday, cross the 8th off the list

edit: obviously wednesday if meant for friday launch

I work cargo operations for UPS. The week after Thanksgiving UPS adds two more flights a day to send and receive cargo. We don't slow down unless weather is issue.

Best Buy specials are 1st priority. They are sure to get loaded on the plane. I remember for the ipads they got there own plane from New Jersey to Buffalo. It was chaos.

Thier shipment won't be slowed down. So I doubt they would be sent out a day early.

That seems crazy to me. Is there a precedent for this?

It is crazy, but this is the internet where craziness is the norm. People just seem to set logic aside and let their hopes dictate what 'makes sense' to them. These same people eat up all the rumors for release dates that have come & gone on a regular basis, and yet come back for more. They'd rather believe a rumor like "My grandmother's younger sister told me that her brother's nephew knows a guy's sister who once worked at VZW 8 years ago and he said she really thinks it will be out next week". I don't think I've ever seen more of this kind of stuff than with the GNex. It's really amazing to watch.

I think some just love to set themselves up for disappointment time after time after time. It's almost a kind of masochism.

This makes sense. I mean maybe for the average consumer and small business shipping would slow but for the larger corporations it makes sense they get priorities.
