To me, the white box actually looks more legitimate- I don't think the poster would PURPOSELY try to make it fake and have just a plain white box. Like someone else said there is probably a sleeve that goes over it (like many other phones). Heres to hoping and not to being sucked in by trolls.

I love the white box. Probably a sleeve. But like someone else said, not a huge departure from my Thunderbolt box, which was all black except with raised lettering.

I received an insert in last month's CenturyLink telephone bill indicating they were now authorized VZW agents. I called and spoke with a CSR. When asked point blank when the GNex would be available s/he stated Dec 11th. This was confirmed by the supervisor when asked if there would be a pre-sale. No pre-sale (through them) information available but available on December 10, 2011 at midnight.

As the CenturyLink CSR's are not commissioned (I asked), I see no reason for him/her to fabricate information...in addition to the fact that s/he did not try to forcefeed me a Razr after the GNex topic was broached. The recommendation was actually the Rezound over the Razr which tells me they are not as 'driven' as are the VZW folks.

Just thought I'd pass this along. Label it as you will and apply condiments as appropriate.

Anyone think that the "white box" could be for the stores display unit?????

They open a big box and the white one is on top for the Nexus display in the store???

Again... exchange applies outside the 14 day return window. I did not exchange. I returned the rezound. 1 transaction. I went back yesterday and purchased a razr. Different transaction. I never made an exchange. I checked and checked and checked clearly stating I had recently made a return.

ok keep believing that. You cannot do anything after 14 days.

I've worked retail myself in the past, and know firsthard that stores can and will take down demo units for this reason. When I worked for a music store we had to put a guitar behind the counter and limit access, because too many people were coming in just to mess around with it. I saw it happen again in I believe '06 when the Wii first came out. There was a Gamstop nearby who took down their demo model because people were coming in to play with it and not buying anything. Same time of year too.

Don't tell us we're wrong when you don't know for certain what happened. We're not stating fact, just speculating.

I haven't told anyone they're right or wrong regarding why Samsung took that phone away. I am saying that the notion of a promotion creating foot traffic being detrimental to sales is WRONG.

Quoting myself. Anway, I read the entire PR and the date - December 15th- keeps popping up. In the above bullet list and again in another paragraph:

"On Dec. 15, Verizon Wireless will be in 190 markets, covering more than 200 million people, with numerous different devices. Which means you have a great selection of smartphones, tablets, mobile hotspots and USB modems to access the network."

Very interesting...

the 15th is when more lte markets go live. Has been talked about awhile back....

Okay, so I'll play devil debbie downer advocate on the PR...

Notice the tablets are listed as releasing this month but the Nexus is "coming soon?"

Probably the most rational post in the last 4 pages. Congrats.

P.S. Who else thinks that Han's sister is going to be bummed when his bugging her doesn't end on Thursday?? Lol
