Second store I called and asked if she has heard anything about a Galaxy Nexus release date and immediately she started laughing followed by a "No, we have not. Sorry..."

Ok so here's my conclusion.

My state - New Jersey - is garbage and isn't getting any Nexi ever so the stores there know nothing (reasonable right?)

Everyone else is getting them on Thursday or Friday.

Preorders Start at midnight tomorrow after a PR announces them either later tonight or tomorrow afternoon.

Boooooooooooooooom.

OK, I just got a call from the Verizon store that I left my name with this morning. They called me and asked me to tell me that they will be selling the Galaxy Nexus on Friday 12/9. They said that they would reserve one for me if I wanted it. I've already reserved it at another store, so I passed. The store is the Citrus Park store in Tampa. You can call to confirm if you want!!!

I just called the local corporate store and was told that they will have the device by the end of the week.

I said "Friday?" He said yes, and gave me his number so I can text him and make sure it is in before heading over

Demitri came back on and said that he doesn't have an official date, but that "I'm seeing the 9th for the date."

I just called my local corporate store asking about the nexus. The sales rep said as of know they have been told they will have them in stock on the 8th! He took my name down and said he will give me a call later this afternoon/tommorow once they have been given a go-ahead to make appointments.

OK, so I just called a VZW corporate store and asked when I could put my hands on a SGN, cause my Eris is on its last leg . Put on hold, she came back and said Friday they will have them and I made an appointment with her so she gets the sale.
I will call first. Good enough for me..now back to porn and online racing!! lmao

Just called my sixth store and they received shipments in today

Just called my two local corporate stores:

1st store: Nexus will be out before Xmas ... not sure when.

2nd store: asked if i could put my name on waiting list for Nexus, she said no, but I can make an appointment to pick it up on Friday. I have an appointment at 9:00 AM to pick up my new Galaxy Nexus. They're expecting stock to arrive any day.

I just called my store and the rep said it would be out soon. She also said she was winking while she said it as well as saying she was doing air quotes when she said the word "soon". I asked about the 8th or 9th and she said "no" but then she told me she was nodding while she answered.

Hope this clears everything up.

I'm on the phone with the Verizon store in Shreveport. They just told me they go on sale on the 8th.

On the phone with the 3rd corp store, he said without hesitation it looks like the 9th, but then I asked his where he is getting his info. Then he puts me on hold and says they it's either the 8th or the 9th. I asked him again where he received his information from he said Verizon.

He went on to say they usually have meetings on Friday but they have changed it to Thursday which usually indicates they have a big launch happening. Before he hung up with me I heard someone talking to him and said Thursday or Friday for sure, and he said that was my manger that just said Thursday or Friday.

PM me if you live in Indiana and I'll give you the name of the store.

I have a (very) dumb question about corp stores. I assume that these are the stores in the VZW store locator on the tab marked "Verizon Wireless Stores", and not All stores.

I noticed that some of the VZW stores tab are kiosks. I guess I'll have to start calling closer to release day to see which have the gnex.

i still think people are having a hard time grasping the idea of sleeved packaging!

I'm pretty sure that white box is the inner box and yes the barcode on the end but everything else (designs, logos, etc) on the sleeve.

My old blackberries always had similar stuff...

i think the point you are missing is that the leaked pics already show a sleeve. the pic to the far right, with the GNex in it, is the bottom half of the box. the pic to the left of that, with the outline of the GNex, is the top half of the box that fits over the bottom half. then, furthest to the left is the white sleeve that fits over the entire box.

i think the point everyone is making is that it doesn't make sense to have a plain white sleeve, as is shown in that pic. and, your explanation also doesn't make sense - a second sleeve, with the printed logo, to slide over the plain white sleeve???? maybe the printed logo sleeves are being shipped separately and will be substituted for the plain white sleeve at the retail stores, but that doesn't make much sense to me... idk...

no its a retail box this is what you would get if you bought from verizon its hard to se in the pics but it does say galaxy nexus on the box its like a stamp

EDIT: if you look at the top of the box you can make out "zon" very slightly about 1/8 of the way down. I changed my mind and say this is the legit retail box!

I thought there was a small irregularity in one of them on the top....i'll have to look again

I called the Citrus Park store and the rep did indeed tell me the 9th for the G-Nex. Then I called my store (I stay in Atlanta) and they said they didn't have a date as of yet. I'm hoping for the 9th!!

Welp none of the stores here have a clue other than "this month." The Rep I deal with directly is supposed to call me when he gets a demo unit in, which means as of now, they have no demo units. Bleh, I'm betting it's going to release in bigger/already 4G markets and then release here so I'm probably looking at a week to two weeks if I'm lucky.

Robertlawson, the poster of the pics at XDA came back and answered some questions. Oddly enough, openyoureyes said they are demo/review units, but he claims it is the retail packaging. He also says that there is a stamp rather than a print.
