Referring to the link, NBC Bay Area got the story from the WSJ, who got it from from our very own Phandroid, who got it from this forum thread, and we got it from RootzWiki.
If it's going to be a story from a prominent news company, chances are it came from this thread.
Given that there were posts mentioning USB connectivity issues (something about no SD card = partition= difficulty in getting some tech platforms to recognize the GNex via USB), will I be able to plug the Gnex into the USB port of my HD Roku? I have an HD Roku, nad a really old CRT television...
also, will my IOG Droid Motorola chargers work OK to charge the Gnex? They's mini USB, like the Gnex.
chandl90;3592025]nice to know im not the only one in the area! Luckily I go back to MSU tomorrow (no class today). Maybe the ones in east lansing will be more useful
Long time lurker with OG Droid, looking forward to the Nexus. Since I'm new I can't post a link to a video that I can't view at work. Nexus is in the first frame and it's about Verizon and smart phones. Anyone volunteer to have me pm them the link so they can view it?
True, just sucks that I should have to do so in the first place. They should have just made the blink rate as fast as the Moto and HTC phones. But hell, I'll take a workaround vs no workaround. Beats the lack of the option completely, ala the SII.

A great example was when one of our members (forgot the name, sorry) found the pics on Verizon's site. If you watched how that spread and got washed, you can see how one source can look like several and thus confirmation.
With the way news spreads, all may have come from the same unreliable source, for all we know.
I just got off the phone with Customer Service, and apparently the NE2 discount is different from a loyalty discount. There is a separate department set up for "loyalty", and only they can give out a loyalty discount.
She also repeated the earlier summary/post of when the NE2 applies.
Lastly, she also stated that VZW is stopping the NE2 discount, so when I use mine, it'll be the last one.
that's good news!! the 2 vzw peeps i talked to couldn't tell me if Loyalty credit was different than or the same as NE2 discount... if they really are separate, i'll be able to get my GNex for $215 (300, less NE2, less Loyalty, less Living Social) - i can handle that...
I actually do have a Galaxy Nexus, just the GSM version. I love the phone, but I hate AT&T's data connections. HSPA+ is fantastic in certain areas of town (9-10 mb/s downloads) -- combined with unlimited data, that's killer.
On the other hand, downtown, in football games, in crowds at a mall, etc, the download is 0.5 mb/s or under. This is because AT&T's network can't handle crowds. For that reason, it's very likely that I give up unlimited data and go over to Verizon when this thing releases this week. I will still keep my GSM version for international trips, though.
Thought of you and your sis on Sunday. My older son was calling my younger son "Window Licker" and the younger one was yelling "Pin Head!" I asked them what was going on and the said, "He's Window Licker." and the younger said, "Ya, and he's Pin Head!"
Tracing news stories thru the blogosphere is my thing. Kind of helps when someone wants to argue Android "facts" with me that "everyone knows" but me. Saves on flame wars, helps people with the truth.
I used to work for NBC Bay Area, and I can tell you that they get their news from blogs and forums like us. And the graphic that they are using has a Droid logo imbedded in the Nexus. lol

I just set an appointment with the sales rep at my local Verizon store for Friday morning at 9:00 AM to trade in my Rent-a-RAZR for the Gnex. 100% completely confirmed from a corporate store in Chattanooga. WOO-HOO!!!!!!
A friend just told me how happy he was with the Bionic when i mentioned that i was looking forward to the Nexus on friday. This is the same person that has been estatic while using ATK on the bionic. "Look I just freed up 488mb!". Moral of the story: I wish I had more tech savvy friends like you guys and girls around to talk with.
ON TOPIC:

My Jersey friends - Paramus is waiting for their shipment to be delivered. He does not know what day they can sell yet but told me to call back tomorrow to try again. I feel that I will not only be highly unproductive the next two days but I will also be braving Route 17 traffic tomorrow or Friday.
I will of course report my findings but if you guys in north Jersey beat me to the store and take them all you will find a very very unhappy BabyBlues crying at one of the bars in the area - and I won't care what time it is.
