I'm getting whip lash again! Come on Verizon throw us a bone!
So here's how I think the next several weeks are going to go.
On Friday I will attend my daughter's choral concert. She's very musical, and I'm always impressed and proud to watch her singing with her friends. And then, on Saturday and Sunday, she'll be part of a children's chorus during performances of "The Nutcracker," so that will be more of the same.
It will be a busy weekend, but at some point I'll find time to get the Christmas decorations down from the attic. I'm a sucker for family traditions; we'll put up the tree and decorate it while listening to Christmas music. It's always fun to pull out the old ornaments, which are reminders of when my daughter was younger. There's still one she made in kindergarten, and of course those Powerpuff Girls ornaments, and the one her best friend gave her in second grade. Time goes so fast, and somehow the holidays remind me of that more than anything else.
Next week I'll wind up my work for the year and start my year-end vacation (we're required to use all of our accrued vacation days before the end of the year). There's lots of stuff I want to do during my time off: reading, some jobs around the house, movies to watch. Maybe I'll record some new music; haven't had enough time for that lately.
Before I know it, it will be time to load up the car and head down to my parents' house for the family Christmas gathering. Every year, I'm thankful that my parents are still in good health and that my siblings live close enough that we can all get together.
Somewhere in there, I'll most likely get a new phone, which will also be fun. Fortunately, that's not the most important thing I've got going on right now.
Today was the 14 day mark for me with the Rezound. I went down to my local store for clarification on the return policy. I guess I lucked out catching one of the store managers right off the bat.
She told me that the holiday promotion is in fact for unactivated phones only, but after explaining my intentions with the Gnex, she gave me a card with her name and told me that as long as I bring the Rezound back before January 15th and asked for her, she would exchange it for me anyway.
For what it's worth, in both that encounter and a phone call yesterday where I did a poor job explaining my intentions, they genuinely seemed to be very unsure when the phone would release. She made sure I understood that she could only do me the favor before the 15th, whether the Gnex is available or not.
Just don't start singing the Bee Gee's.![]()
Golly, dual Genius Bars!?! what will they think of next? This is innovation at its best.

This thread is perpetually two pages ahead of my reading![]()
I find it pretty hilarious that whenever VZW posts anything on their fb page, regardless of subject, they are pummeled by screams for the Nexus.
So with all the bad news swirling this morning, I decided to take a trip to my local verizon wireless store in the southwest Chicago suburbs. I wanted to see if I could talk my way into playing with a Galaxy Nexus. Sure enough, after telling the employee that I was considering buying a razr but really wanted to feel what the nexus felt like in my hand, he told me he had one in the back! Sure enough, he came out with a working model!
So, my first impressions. I will be waiting for this phone. The camera is just as fast as everyone says. I love having the widgets in the app drawer. Speaking of widgets, being able to resize them is an awesome feature. I love that ICS took a page out of Cyanogen and lets you swipe away alerts. It worked very smooth. It felt similar in size to the razr but (forgive me) less sharp? The nexus just has more rounded edges. It did not feel to big in my jeans pocket either. All in all, after playing with the phone, I feel better.
Never!
But IF I ever do, I'll just blame it all on those nights on Broadway!![]()
OT:
Rod Blagojevich sentenced to 14 years. I didn't work on it at all, but at least I got a semi-victory today.

Well I texted my sister about my newfound optimism:
She texted back:
Where's Antimony? He'll be very excited to see this.

ok, pretty much not happening on the 9th then. Verizon has 24 days until I go with another carrier.
