I don't THINK so, but it may depend how many people get it... If the flood gates open, they might consider it...

On another note, I have to wonder if the "Buy Now" button that Google let go live overnight is somewhat of a jab at Verizon.

If you look at the page source, it lists conditions for detecting what country you're accessing the page in, and it displays links to the carriers, like vodaphone, so you can purchase the it. You gotta remember, this phone is already in many countries... This is why when WE click on it, in the U.S. it asks us to register for more info, if you're in the UK, it takes you to a store.

I'm sorry, but I see this statement repeated often 'the phones are in the stores'. Let me repeat this for the fourth time, as of yesterday afternoon I could not find one VZW Corporate, non-corporate, RS or Costco on Long Island that had the phone in stock, not one. This probably reflects a total of 14 different locations that I either called or visited.

So please folks, don't assume that 'phones are in ALL stores', they are not. I can't make that any clearer.

Just to clarify the VZW corp, non-corp, RS and Costco all allowed you to look in there back stock rooms? Maybe the weren't telling you the truth? I think the only thing that we know is:

1) Stores have them and aren't saying (lying)
2)Stores don't have them and are telling the truth
3)Stores........................
4)........................
5)........................
6)........................

True, but why wouldn't this go live on 11/17 then? It just HAPPENS to go live on 12/9? But thanks for the info.

like some people have mentioned....if this thing moves out to January I think i am willing to take a hit on service and switch providers rather then give verizon my money at this point.....this is just inexcusable... Everyone country in the world has the phone releases expect the US....that is verizons fault plain and simple. And for people saying they would ship stock back to HQ and re-flash ROMS with google wallet on it...that makes NO sense, why wouldn't they just announce its available and let us download it from the market like everything else?

The reasons the stores might ship the phones back are (not a complete list, I'm sure):

A) There's a serious issue with the phone
B) The release date has been pushed so far back, stores need the stock space
C) The phone is cancelled, period (highly unlikely IMO)
D) Reflashing of the ROM (can't see why they'd have to ship the whole phone back for that).

My extended battery and high gloss silicon case come today whenever Fedex shows up.

Has it been photographed very well? I can take a bunch of pics if not....

I already addressed this.

I can't see any way the flood gates open today...

I seriously hope the "Buy Now" button was a jab at Verizon from Google...
I would think that, behind the scenes, Google has to be very frustrated with the way Verizon has handled it's flagship phone.

Someone got in on the Matias Duarte convo on Google+ the other day, and he came right out and said Google is not happy that this phone is not in US customer's hands... Read into that what you will. They could be mad at Samsung for not having a quality product ready when it turned it over to VZW for testing... who knows.

I think it's all Verizon....

The Samsung hardware seems to be good enough on the GSM version.

I have been checking for the 360 degree SWF file for the past few weeks. It's still not where it *should* be, so I'm still wondering if this was just an error on the redirector.

You're preaching to the choir my friend. If it goes beyond the end of the month I am taking an ETF and heading elsewhere as well. As for the re-flashing not making sense, if that was all you got from the post, I agree it wouldn't make sense.

I was merely trying to throw some ray of hope or wiggle room for the thing not being indefinitely pushed back or cancelled entirely. It's one of those deals where you really hope there is a solution that even remotely fits what you want to hear but deep down, real world experience tells you that there really isn't a positive scenario with what we know (or don't know) at this point in time. :)

Did anyone notice that if you go to vzw.com/galaxynexus now, you get the websites template now instead of a blank page like an hour ago..?

Damn...

Ok, here's my ONLY bit of optimism before the sun comes up -

They took the page down because the day is soon upon us?

A man can dream...

Regarding the whole cancellation of the phone scenario...

It's too late in the game, they have to release the phone. The phones have been manufactured, packaged, and (maybe) shipped. Too much money tied up in this phone.

Also, if Verizon cancels the phone I'm sure they are going to owe Google a pretty sizable chunk of cash due to the exclusivity contract.

With all these delays, plus the "stop the presses" halt put on the launch this week, you'd think we'd be at 4.3.2.5.6.7.1.0.1 at this point

...which is exactly why I am afraid this is purely a legal issue and not a phone specific issue. Good new, for us, is that legal matters tend to move very quickly (eye roll)

They wouldn't be selling accessories via telesales or stores for a canceled device.

Hi guys figure I'd chime in without interrupting too much lol... I been following this phone launch and this forum for a few weeks. Here's the twist... I'm an iphone user on ATT. This phone is so compelling I'm staying up hours every night to scan updates and paying my early contract fee to leave ATT and get this phone the day it comes out. This is from a guy who has been with ATT for 9 years with unlimited data grandfathered, and only used iphone for 3 years... This phone IS A BIG DEAL!

Welcome to the craziness dizzll! Sorry you have to suffer from Verizon's stupidity but we welcome you with open arms! :)

I'm waiting for the inevitable disappointment of 12/9 with my longtime friend Cabo Wabo...hopefully I'll make it through the night. Can't wait to work from 8 pm friday til noon saturday.

At least I'll be closer to the still unconfirmed "newer date"

Have you ever been to Cabo Wabo? That place is nuts.

If they were to cancel this phone, I would get out of Verizon as soon as my contract expires. It will be the biggest self-destruction of a public corporation not tied to finance we will ever see. Google will immediately move to make it available on AT&T and T-Mobile subsidized, and those two carriers will have a FIELD DAY with advertising. Plus Verizon will have pissed off Samsung, Google, and Motorola. Their Droid brand will die. Since the only decent WP7 hardware is nokia, who doesn't do CDMA, they will be left with the scraps of android and WP7, along with the iPhone. No thanks, no need to be involved in that.

(By the way, this scenario shows just how unlikely the phone cancellation will be. Verizon execs are not THAT stupid.)
I hope
