***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

On my lunch break I stopped into the VZW corporate store and asked where it was. A lady approached me and said, "Check back in a few days." What I really wanted to do after that was kick over the RAZR displays and make a scene. If my voice won't be heard by corporate on how displeased and fet up I am, my actions will.

I'm wearing thin. Just checked out the HTC Titan and Galaxy Note--and I like what I see.

easiest way i found to get directly to this thread quickly was put it under the subscribed tab

I was actually in an at&t store to look at the skyrocket. I didn't see the titan but was there for android so if I go back ill check it out. Right now, I hate my charge, I have to use a case otherwise the volume and power buttons seem a little sensitive and volume can be turned off just from sitting in my pocket. The back button is starting to stick a little bit already as well. Shame for a phone that's only about six months old. But face it, it was only meant as filler until the gsII and nexus hit.

I was thinking the same thing when the Transformer Prime was supposed to come out soon.

Now I'm just drowning my sorrows in Battlefield 3 and dubstep (sigh, I really have sunk so low :p).

Hey at least you are able to play. My laptop is so freaking inadequate I get lag on modern warfare 1.

:(

Question for you folks... If the Galaxy Note and it's 5.3 inch screen and Exynos processor was coming out the same time as the Nexus and both had ICS, which would you buy?
I couldn't do the Note for it's size. Yikes. That ain't fitting very discretely into my pocket. Is that a Note in your pocket or are you just ____ __ ___ __?

Phone Size - Phone size comparison made easy!

That's mature.

I saw it too. If I had any self respect I'd jump to AT&T for the Titan or skyrocket.

Stupid Han.

if you've never been under contract with AT&T or used their service with regularity, i would advise against it.

i was with AT&T for 7 years. i finally got tired of the HORRIBLE coverage and constant dropped calls (throughout my 7 years i had dumbphones, feature phones, and the fruit phone and all had the same issues with their network) and paid nearly $700 out of pocket to get me and my wife out from under their shoddy service and move over to VZW for the Droid X (my phone) and the OG Droid (for my wife).

it has been my experience that VZW is vastly superior in coverage AND customer service than AT&T ever thought about being. they may be getting a few nice phones for the time being, but "the grass is always greener on the other side because it's fertilized with b#!!$**%" certainly would apply in this instance, from my experience.

I'm inclined to agree with you, because I've always been from the school of thought that believes you want your device to be the best of it's kind for as long as possible (with the rapidly advancing current technology), and with this thing being pushed back so far, it's reign as the top dog will certainly be short. However, this is a Nexus we're talking about. Hardware is obviously important, but I've always been a software guy. I'm the guy running alpha and beta builds of new versions on my Incredible because I have to have the latest software. A nexus allows that. So, yeah, we may see some sweet quad-core devices shown off at CES in January (?), but history has shown that those devices take months to be released. I'd say we're looking at no earlier than Q2 for something like that and by then my Nexus will be running at least 4.1 if not higher, when those devices will be running 4.01(2) at best, with custom skins on top. For me, I would still get the Nexus even if it wasn't until after CES. Nexus or bust.

Sure, software is the key thing for me too. Which is why having ICS out of the gate on a Nexus would be great...but that begins to wane the longer this takes. What if the phone is released mid-late January? March usually signals a new flood of phones, and you know many of them will feature ICS on devices that will run faster than the GN.

As for having a Nexus experience, I'm kinda wary with VZW involved. If they're holding up this phone due to Google Wallet issues, why in the world wouldn't they hold up future updates for reasons related to other politics involved? There is no hard and fast rule Google has laid down with the Nexus line other than stock Android. I flat out don't trust VZW not to bigfoot this phone if they feel something on it will run cross-purpose to something they want to do.

I'd be all over the Note, but I think 5.3 inches is going to be just too big for a lot of people.

If you asked me a month ago, and the Note was coming out at the same time as the Nexus, I probably would have bought the Note. Now, I am all in on the GNex. Especially after receiving my case in the mail, and getting an idea for how big the phone is. The size is perfect for me.

Coverage I can't argue about, it's totally YMMV. The complaints about CS I've never understood. I've had ATT previously for a few years and their CS was always *excellent*. Perhaps I just had an incredible lucky streak when calling in but I actually consider their CS a selling point.

Anything new today? After I posted the Best Buy pic I coached two basketball games (won both btw. I'm 6-0 this week between the 3 teams I coach!). I am back to catch up with everyone.

On a side note, I'm heading to Radio Shack tomorrow to try to buy my Galaxy Nexus. The sales associate told me I could buy it tomorrow. Here's hoping for the best but expecting the worst.

I returned to my part of Cincinnati (eastern suburbs) and went back to the mall I was at earlier to visit Radio Shack. The salesman there said they have them in stock but the Verizon rep came in yesterday and told them not to sell them until Sunday. I asked if I come back Sunday if he will sell me one. He said gladly. We'll see.
