VZW is toying with our emotions. Hearing nothing is good, b/c this time last week we had already heard about delays.

But we also haven't seen any verizon branded confirmation that the phone is releasing on the 15th. All 3rd party retailers who could have input the information in their system based on limited/incorrect info.

So in other words I have no clue what is going on.

That said, I do believe the 9th was official too and something could still pop up and mess with the planned launch on the 15th.

Oh, by all means something could still happen to push the date back. But I think a lot of people got the wrong impression from the 9th. The launch WAS scheduled for then. Numerous CSR's and reports have claimed that a launch had been scheduled for this date and was pushed (hence the mind-numbing amount of speculation as to why). But so many saw it as "Oh, the phone's not out...those leaks and blogs must have been wrong"... NO!

But, I'm just going to assume that I have 26.5 hours until I'm able to hold the sweet nectar of life that is the SGN in my cautious hands. Until I hear otherwise, why would I WANT to believe anything different?

Wow, could it be? Waking up to no rumors of a delay. This might really be it. Going to my corporate store at 9 to see if they are possibly having a soft launch. Crossing fingers for no bad news today.

CostCo's wireless reseller does not require a CostCo membership, so if they have a competitive price and you can wait for overnight shipping, it may be a good choice.
 
Good morning, GNex people!

As for the hours change, my local corp stores had hours changes too: Wednesday & Thursday lumped together and in a different color than every other day. What does this mean? Who can say. But I'll be calling them at 10am about a soft launch.

Hope I sleep better tomorrow night, but I think it can only get worse as the clock ticks away...

Yep, we're in the final stretch (knock on wood.) I am just praying for a smooth landing.

Well Nexicans... I kept your seat in the thread warm since around 10PM last night. It's time for me to hit the hay. Hopefully dreams of sugar plums and little green droids keep me company until I can wake up to an official VZW announcement. I'll be on later tonight, so I'll probably need a rumor update from someone!

You are awesome. I didn't realize there was anyone nice in the New England area, but you just went right up to the top of my list of nice people who also most likely enjoy watching Tom Brady play. As of now, you're the only one on the list... but you've given me hope of maybe someday finding more! Lol...

Of course I wouldn't. And like many of us have said... too many things point to it this time. We are all cautiously optimistic... we have to be after what we've been through with this launch. But the things that were obvious last week when a delay occurred have not surfaced this time around. That has to be a good sign. And with so many testimonials of people who have been told the 15th can't just be an ugly rumor that has caught on. The e-mail that was sent to VZW stores should be all we need to have faith. If multiple sales associates claim they received an email marking 15th as the date, I think that's enough for me to believe.

Anyway... bed time. Good luck to all who try to obtain one today. I'm hoping to see an e-mail from google and/or VZW by the time I awake. Which should be in like 4 hours, lol. Here's hoping!

I've got a good feeling today. Partly because the Nexus could be released tomorrow. Also partly because this time next week I'll be on my week and a half long holiday break from work. :D

As others have said, no news of a delay is good news so far. A PR can still happen this morning. Verizon has been known to have announcements of availability the day before or the day of. If not, then oh well. What can we do?

Assuming that there is a OTA patch available once we get the phone.. any word whether this will break the current root methods?
 
I screwed up....Weeks ago I set up an appointment to donate blood at 10am this Thursday (platelets actually which I'm told requires a special machine that they don't have many of). I'm also donating this blood downtown which is about an hour away from my home/VZW store.

I may have to wait until after work to get my new phone rather than at opening like I had hoped.

Sure I could skip the appointment but that isn't in my nature, so while I'm laying there giving the gift of life, please post your thoughts on your new toy so I have something to read.
 
Anyone know from experience what time the PR might go out today, assuming it does? I think I remember the XYBoard going out in the AM. Of course the first PR for the GNex went out 5pm on a friday, so who knows.

There isn't a VZW/Costco or RadioShack within an hour of downtown? I'm sure you can find somewhere to swing by before/after the appointment.

Plus, most stores open at 8 or 9. If it's 8, you're golden. If it's 9, just drive to the one closest to the appointment and be there when the doors open. That way you'll have time to do the upgrade and still make the appt.

That's a good question. Been looking at past announcements from when other tech sites reported them, but there doesn't seem to be any sort of consistency as far as time goes. I'd imagine it would be morning to get a lead time on promoting the thing for at least a day on the site but it's really anyone's guess.

FYI, Bionic and the Droid 3 were all announced in the morning. Bionic and Droid 3 PR picked up wind on blogs around 10 A.M. Add on the Fascinate and Stratosphere for a morning to mid-morning PR.
 
Morning guys! going to be a busy day at work so not sure how much I will be able to keep up with. My guy is supposed to let me know today what time I need to show up tomorrow to acquire my new baby.... YAY!!!!
