***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Apparently, the Radio shack down the street from me received one GNex and, of course, said that the system wouldn't let them sell it to someone who tried recently. They don't know when/if they're receiving more, but the woman said she hopes so because lots of people are asking about it. Oddly enough, she said specifically that they can't sell it til Sunday.

OK so my corporate store CSR text me and said the Nexus launches TOMORROW...come get it, come early, limited supply. I asked if 16 or 32gb..32only, asked about price...he didnt know that yet...I said let me know on the price.....I'm probably gonna wait till after I get back from a cruise after xmas. Dont want a phone that may have problems . Guess I'll read the reviews and wait for a MHS root fix!!

Guess its finally here!!

Another long time lurker of this thread posting for the first time. With the (hopefully) imminent release of this phone, I've kicked my search into high gear for any information. I'm yet another Day 1 OG Droid buyer here and it's hanging on for dear life waiting for a replacement. I haven't followed every reply, but I see most of the people whose stores have "confirmed" tomorrow are more out to the west or south, while little information is available for my area (New York State, outside of the city). Today I called nearly every place I know of nearby which carries Verizon phones, and here's the result. Note that I'm unaware if the two Verizon stores I called are corporate or resellers.

Verizon Store 1
I asked if they were taking names for the Nexus, was told no. I followed up questioning the number of phones that would be available when it DID launch, and was told that they didn't know as they haven't received any yet.

Verizon Store 2
I asked if they were taking names for the Nexus, was immediately told that they had no information regarding the phone. I also asked them about the amount of phones that would be available and was told again that they had no information. it sounded like they had been asked about it alot and were just using a generic response for any questions about the Nexus.

Best Buy
I called and the phone rang for 15 minutes before I gave up. I had called earlier in the week and it took over 20 minutes for someone to pick up, so I wasn't surprised

Costco
This is where I would like to purchase the phone most, but they also told me they weren't taking names and informed me that they couldn't tell me anything about their stock until the phone was released.

Radio Shack
Until today I hadn't considered Radio Shack for anything other than batteries, but with others talking of good experiences with them I decided to give it a try. The person who I spoke to knew of the phone and, after asking their manager, they confirmed that they were taking names for the Nexus! After she confirmed I was looking for the Verizon model(She told me some people were asking about the GSM version) she told me that they had ONE in the back and it now had my name and number on it, as well as a promise to call me as soon as they hear anything official. I never got her to say the 15th, but she did confirm that the 9th was a previous release date that was delayed. All in all I was so pleased that even if Costco has it tomorrow I'll still pick it up at Radio Shack(assuming it's released at both stores tomorrow) as they were the only place to tell me anything other than a company line and went out on a limb to reserve one for me without any face-to-face meeting or deposit made.
Welcome! I think if they wouldn't acknowledge then likely it was a corporate store. They apparently just can't say until the press release.. don't know. I went with a reseller, because thay seem to know just as much, but don't get in as much trouble for speaking to us about it??

Wow. This kinda bummed me out. I just called Costco and they are usually really nice. I asked about tomorrow and the guy was unusually pissy. Said "absolutely NOT" being released tomorrow :(

Oh well, I'm hoping he is saying that just to get everyone off the phone quickly.
Verizon has botched this launch so hard, by keeping everyone in the dark, yet still letting enough official documents to leak, that the poor employees are taking a beating form all of us asking them constantly for information that they can't give. It really sucks for them:(

@britishturbo: VerizonWireless is now pushing out the update for the Galaxy Nexus that was needed before it could be released... What does that tell you ;)

We gettin internet-hitched before this monster of a thread closes? I did enjoy going to bed with no dirty underwear on my pillow last night. ;)

I know there still may be some doubters but at this point I'm finally convinced. I have been waiting nearly 1700 pages to do this...

So, not that anyone needs another "I spoke to a store rep today!" confirmation but I'm going to give you mine anyway :)

Went in to the Verizon Corporate Store in the Newport Jersey City Mall (NJ) and said to the girl "I know there hasn't been an official release from Verizon..." (this is where she started to nod and cut me off). She replied "No, it's official now. We will be releasing the Galaxy Nexus tomorrow morning. That's what my Manager just told me, and thats as official as I need. However, it's on a first come first serve basis."

Anyways, just thought I would share for poops and giggles. Verizon has succeeded in a 'soft' release.

thanks for that, my wife works right behind the mall. i'll be there about 8:30!!!
