Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

I odined to Chin's GB version, have no sd card in, went into cwm and wiped anything that could be, then clicked fix permissions, booted back up and I had a signal.

Then it died again, now I just have all the bars with a little x in front of them, indicating there is no signal, and it double-beeps once in a while like it's searching for a signal.

It has nothing to do where I'm at/location. -strange problem, never had these signal issues before.

Um together Google Search and Voice Search make up the search bar widget on the home screen I can type in a search and it works but if I say it the Voice Search crashes. Installing the GoogleQuickSearchBox apk did not fix.

na bro..i meant before..as in maybe what caused a problem

i would give it a couple of days and see if it changes any for the better..ive had the signal here at whacky for a day or so..jumping around..usally gets back to normal
 
airplane mode is fine, and before-I had the prl updated already.
I just plugged it in now after a few hours off and with the battery out and still no go, tried to odin to something different and nothing.

I just woke up, let it sit overnite with the battery out, plugged it in to Odin and tried to install ee14, no go, Odined to EJ06 Gingerbread Stock Image made by Koumajutsu, and no go, then rebooted it, has 1 bar with no 3g, hurried and updated prl, got it, then rebooted and my signal was back again.

I never used EJ06 Gingerbread Stock Image made by Koumajutsu before, I tried them all but never that one. for whatever reason I now have 1 bar and the 3g marker, but I've seen this shit before, I don't think it's gonna stay.

If I get it fixed I think Im goin back to stock gb and staying there for good. getting tired of this.
 
I might, can't remember when I bought it off hand. That's useless though. Any internal system counters I'm sure could tell them what I've been doing in some way, resulting in me paying money I don't have.

I've never had this issue before I started modding it, and I been using it a while, probably 3 months after boost released it. But hey, I can only blame myself if that's the case for taking the chance. I was warned. lol

More them likely they would just swap the motherboard anyway. They wouldn't even know it was rooted. Just Odin to ee14 stock and send it in
 
It;s wierd I odined back to Chin's GB rooted w/CWM, and got 1 bar/no 3g so I turned on wifi connected to my home pc and turned off 3g, I was able to update the PRL real quick before the signal died, now I can do things slightly if I leave 3g off, but its still sporaticly turning on and off the signal alltogether.

it sounds like your phone has the same problem many others have, just send it to samsung, they will pay shipping even.

I am expecting mine back very soon. You can put stock gingerbread on there using odin they wont know or care if you rooted it but as long as odin and not rooted image is available that is the best way.

Call samsung they will get this taken care of.

Oh and the manufacture warranty is 1 year They will likely have your information soon as you give them the phone number.
 
I installef ct mod less then 3 days ago.
Yesterday I noticed the battery draining superfast.
Even when I wasnt using it!
About 1.33333% a minute
My calculation.
I tried calibrating the battery with an app today but still draining.
I only use the phone for browsing
And downloading.
It used to last me all day with a charge.
I charged it a little after 12 its almost five and alteady 25% gone.
And I havent done much...

Any way I can get tgat life back to my battery?
 
Installed 2.5 a week ago and everything worked great until i tried to pair it with my gps.
After turning bluetooth on, as soon as i check discoverable screen goes dark, and everything closes and then after a few seconds it shows homescreen, all my icons gone and scanning sd card again. takes a minute for icons to come back up, and then it does it again and again. the only way to stop that loop is to pull the battery. headset works fine but discoverable mode is glitching out.
any ideas?
 
I took the phone last night out of the house and up the street and bang my full signal was back, I wonder if it;s related to any work that;s been done around here from verizon running cables outside/installing things or if there is something wrong with the phone.

Even though I got a full signal, I could not update the prl, it gave me an internal error everytime I tried. I have never had any issues with my signal in this area where I'm currently living until the other day. So I don't know if it's a combo of problems between the phone and area or what now.

If I was to send the phone in it's gonna cause all kinds of big problems for me, I can;t be without a phone. to complicated to explain. I think Ill go in person to see if I can swap it out. If I had money I would just buy a new one.

Battery Issues - you guys having battery problems - it is related to having the mod and kernel, I dont know which, I was using ctmod 2.5/kk1.2, it's without a doubt related, I'm not the only one who has had battery drains since installing them, but I'm being told it's something else, it's not. -If I put stock GB back on the phone, the battery issue is no longer an issue.

Maybe you should just stick with stock GB then bro.

There are no problems with the battery life with CTMod. Most people get around 30 hours on average or more.

I can't help it if someone installs some mod, app, kernel, sets shit to sync every 20 secs and the battery life sucks or if the battery is screwed up or the signal is horrible and draining it.

for some reason some devices have trouble with bluetooth and some don't so I haven't been able to find what the problem is

Talking about Bluetooth, my LG Tone is working great with CTMod 2.5, the only thing is that when I turn the Bluetooth on in my Prevail, the phone doesn't automatically connect to the headset. I am not sure if it is a phone config issue (does it need one of the missing apps?) or the headset's. Nevertheless, it is not a big deal.

Lol dude you got a hand full of problems going on that cant be blamed on the ROM you run..if i had a dollar for everytime i screwed something up so far running a rom and doing way to many mods..it can be hard to figure out the source once you past that certain point...your best bet would be to start over on GB and be very catious on what mods or changes you make to your phone..might make it easier to identify your problem(s)
 
I'm talking about the battery drain thing, there is a difference between using just plain stock GB compared to using a mod. Sorry man but it's true. lol
 
I have used every ROM and kernel for this phone except kk1.3 and battery life is way better than stock gb. I couldn't make it through work with stock.

have you gone 4 days without charging on stock GB? cause I've gone 3 days and 19 hours using CTMod and A2SD with brightness at 100% during the day and 0 at night, wifi on the whole time, gmail on auto sync and beautiful widgets syncing every 30 mins. still had around 15 or 20% left when i plugged it in

right now I'm using unofficial koumakernel 1.3 and it does seem to drain faster but i can still get around 30 hours
