(VZW) Nexus 4.0.X Update Discussion

Could it be perhaps they are waiting for the rumored Samsung fix to be ready so they (Verizon) can push both updates at once? I think I called it somewhere in this forum... we will be lucky to get 4.0.4 by July at this rate. May is almost over so it's obvious it ain't happening this month.
 
The fact that a carrier would be holding back the update of a "Google Phone" is just pathetic. Apple and Apple fanboys must be laughing their asses off.
 
This hadn't happened to me in months and then all of a sudden it started again yesterday and happened a few times. I need to call my insurance and UPS and I'm afraid to do it because the phone might keep cutting out on me :/

At this point it simply doesn't make sense why they haven't. Even for Verizon this is ridiculously long to "test" a release.

God I hope so...hopefully this REAL OTA comes with yet a new set of radios that make things better...I'm not holding my breath, but it sure would be nice. I think the radios are just average/slightly-below-average, though, and no amount of software is going to fix the hardware. But I'm trying to remain optimistic! :)

I hear you. I am ALMOST there, one more bump in performance and I should get consistent 4G at my desk. How nice that would be.

Yeah it's not a HUGE problem for me as I'm on wifi 99% of the time. I just wish the radios would penetrate buildings better, that's all. If only there were a way for ROM devs to boost the power on the radios, perhaps that's all it'd take. I'm sure it would sacrifice some battery life, but if we had the flexibility to control that, it sure would be great...
 
Anyone who has rooted have better experience downloading MMS messages while on wifi?

I've had problems with not being able to download MMS while on a wifi network but when I switch wifi off and get on 3 or 4G the photo message gets downloaded fine. Seems to be an issue among some. Just wondering if the leaked update has fixed this issue as it has been a pain for me.
 
Android 4.0.4 for Verizon?s Galaxy Nexus might be rolled out today

Despite several leak builds of Android 4.0.4 for the Galaxy Nexus that have made their way out to the open, the carrier is taking it’s sweet time to announce a date for the official rolling out of update. But if you believe reports coming from several subscribers who apparently have gotten the tips from Verizon support staff, the update will start trickling down to your phone starting from 11 AM EST.

I really hope this update comes today. There a few small things that I can't wait to get fixed!

Also, does anyone know if this update addresses the horrible contact picture quality issue?
 
Doesn't Verizon normally post the update notification/changelog prior to the update rolling out? Or at least has recently?
 
Between Romming and OTAs I always end up re-doing my Homescreen Icons and widgets etc.

Does Anyone know of a solution for backing up all your shortcuts and Widgets from the default Android Home Launcher...If it requires Root i'm fine with that..Even if it doesn't do Widgets I'm fine with it.

I know I can use ADW, Nova Launcher, Etc and Save my settings...But I actually prefer the default Homescreen.

On the original droid life article there is a post on the bottom from a "supposed" verizon tech that says it starts at 11 am and will last 48 hours. He in no way looks legit. I love how web sites report this crap.

I talked to my Verizon business account manager and she says there is nothing planned for updates at this time.
