you are right. Didn't recognize it without the phandriod watermark right through it :) :o

I will go back and reply to Red Leader that it is old news and he should not post it! Geez, doesn't he know we just want to talk about our uncle's cousin that delivers pizza to the store next to the place where there used to be a VZW wireless store and what he heard was incredible. Or about how our old LG vx8300 is really starting to **** us off.

Nah man no one is getting on you. I shouldn't have put the sunglass guy. maybe :o face instead. I wasn't gettin' on ya!

I also forgot that we all saw it on the OLD thread. The one everyone was used to and got shut down.. :p

Maybe Verizon will have that buy one get one free for the HTC Incredible like they are having right now.

Would be sick.........and huzzah for the more confirmation on a March 27th release date.
That would be awesome. My NE2 is up and husband also wants to upgrade to a smart phone. If I could get two of these mythical beasts for the price of one with $100 NE2 credit, I'd finally feel that for once I'd be sticking it to VZW instead of the other way around.

If VZW follows their regular pattern though, Incredible will not be part of a bogo for a few weeks.

Now for my on-topic question: Why exactly is 720p recording so important in a phone like the Incredible? The 720p recording on my digicam is a memory and battery hog. Considering the battery limitations of smartphones in general, 720p recording seems superfluous. Just wondering.

so, 15 minutes after we see a new pic of the incredible, people here just ignore it and talk about speculation...? I don't get it!?!

So Red Leader, where did you get the photo can we ask? Looks nice!

No but if those pictures A) came from our old thread, and B) have been shown to be out of date, by new photos with Verizon branding, then we ignore it and talk speculation.

That is a good point and true, but I always figured VZW doesn't care as much about the tech people like us as they do average joe.

They want to appeal to the masses and get as many average cell phone users or n00b smartphone users to jump on their product.

If A = tech people and (for easy example sake) say there are 100
and
B = average cell phone user/smartphone user (not into the forums) and say there are 1000

They are going to want to get the info out first to the group of 1000, not 100.

Plus if they get the info out elsewhere they know the foums and media sites will pick up on it.

I'm not arguing with you. I agree and most likely they do BOTH, but other than that I don't know. This is just the crazy thoughts in my mind  lol
If that's the case then how do you explain AT&T's success with the iPhone? Most of the people I know that own one are tech heads and mainly men, yet how many hundreds of thousands of phones have they sold already? It's been so successful that die-hards keep coming back to the well with each successive release to upgrade in order to have the latest and greatest.

The problem with Verizon is that they have absolutely nothing in their lineup that rivals it, for if they did they'd be kicking some serious arse!

The Moto Droid is the closest thing they have, but doesn't have the form factory or cache (the French pronunciation, not "cash") of the iPhone. The Incredible should be Verizon's answer to the iPhone after three years, but if they don't create a "buzz" leading up to the release of the phone and get general the populace thinking about it as an alternative to the iPhone they stand to blow a golden opportunity to take market share away from AT&T.

If they were to have an advertising campaign for the Incredible that rivaled the Moto Droid, rest assured it would be a big boon for Verizon and the Android development community.

To me the Incredible, Desire, N1 and SuperSonic are the first wave of iPhone rivals and ironically all are HTC handsets or run on HTC hardware. I don't even consider Android handsets from other manufacturers, as they are a step below in terms of design and function.

The problem is are we ever going to see this phone and is Verizon gong to be able to parlay the success of the Moto Droid and have the Incredible be the launch pad for an all-out assault against AT&T?

Here is a picture of the incredible, next to a G1. I request the OP to add this to the spec post.

Thanks for posting the link, but you're not getting much attention or discussion around it because not only have most of us seen those pictures, the person that took the pictures became a contributor here (devdroidian)

Also, for the speculation around St. Patrick's Day - Devdroidian was simply showing as a preview of the St. Patty's Droid that they had put on some t-shirts. It was in no way to signify that more info was coming out today specifically.

Gotcha :D

lmao!!!! :d:d:d

Yeah, that phone wouldn't exactly be sexy sticking out of your jeans. I guess if you're extra cool you could wear it around your neck. Hope you like being single for the rest of your life though.

And guys lay of tabster. He didn't see that pic before so we know it helped one person - so mission accomplished.

I agree with you. Let me say it again. I AGREE ;) I just don't have the answers. I don't know how VZW handles things. It seems they don't do controlled leaks like Apple or give info (at least not much) out early. Maybe you should work for them in advertising :D

I think what you are saying makes sense. I just think VZW doesn't put much stock into blogs/tech sites (Maybe they should. It'd be free marketing.), but I don't think they do. They keep it "traditional?" Not saying it is right, but they (VZW) don't seem to do advertising/marketing the way you think (and is probably a good way of doing it) is right.

I think if the Incredible is released with the rumored/confirmed specs we have then yes. They should market this bad boy like crazy. Maybe they will! It's too early to tell. I just don't know if they wanna drop another 100mil on advertising.

Just got an email from a friend of mine at Verizon saying they got the Incredible today to start training this week! Very exciting news!

I just sent the Sultan a PM considering this was his one and only post on this forum just prior to the 27th date being rumored. If true, maybe he can check with these same contacts to verify the 27th?

Edit: This was WAY back on pg 5

I am not pushing buttons. I am addressing very directly with the Moderator this issue. I want clarification. I think it's a bit unfair...but I know I don't make the rules. So here's another question. Can we create a thread called "The Incredible Lounge - Off Topic Okay"? Then would the moderators object? I mean really...what do we have to do to be able to be able to discuss this phone and have a bit of chit chat in the process? And asking about policy is anything but detrimental. I'm not bit@hing...I'm making my point. And I think it's a fair point.

There, happy now!!! :(
