Root [Boost Mobile] [ROM] n00b (B10 based) VIII.II FULL Install 1/23/2013

Also- can anybody do me a huge favor??? I want to see if I can reproduce this bug. Install plume (twitter client). Make sure your wifi is on. Try to sign in and authenticate. I can't authenticate via wifi- only on 3g.

I'm having sms/mms issues with the latest noob. When I go to compose a text, I select a recipient by typing in the first few characters of a name, it comes up with who I am looking for, I click it, and when I go to send it won't let me because at the end of the contact I added after the coma, the first few letters or numbers I typed in when selecting a contact are appended, thus saying it is an incomplete recipient.

I have to manually delete the appended characters every time.

Man you sure have a lot of problems with this rom when no one else does, kinda makes you think what ever your doing in your build or something else your doing is the problem, maybe do your own and then maybe it will work the way you want, maybe im out of line here but from what I seen from your posts its kinda seems thats what you need to do. No offense but you seem to be very picky on what someone else has done(and if you look over 45000 views) your the only one with problems, maybe you should build something more to your liking.

If you read back thru the thread, there was a fix for this but, If I remember its not for this version it was for like II or III, don't know if it will work or not and my apologizes for biting your head off dude....

I don't know if others are having these specific issues- that is why I am asking. I searched to no avail.

I'm using it the way it came, and using apps that I don't have issues with outside of this rom. I'm not being critical as a personal attack. I like the rom. But I want it to work. So I am trying to reproduce the issue so I can indeed see if it is something I am doing, or if it is an issue with the rom. I have three issues, two of which stem from the same source (wifi), the other I was just made aware of keyboard settings, and am about to try the suggestion.

Do you see me sitting here saying that the rom sucks? Am I saying that the dev did a bad job? I am trying to problem solve so that maybe I can get a fix whether it be on my end or another person's end of the issue. I place no blame. Figuring it out could be beneficial to more than just me.

I am not going to keep my mouth shut just to keep things nice and fuzzy and copacetic. That doesn't help me.

No need to apologize. I assure you that your outburst did not offend me. I am not criticizing anybody here, just looking for solutions in an objective manner. "If you don't like it, then go do something else" is not a productive alternative to refining something. If you don't want to participate in seeing if others are experiencing the same issue, then simply remain dormant. I don't need the interjection. I understand and commend you for coming to your friend's aid and sharing the pride in his work.

Anyways. Aside from what could be user error or some bugs, this rom is super sweet! And once again as I have said at least three times before, thanks Mr. Bobo for your hard work and all of those who have contributed to making the warp something to be proud of :)

And once again, if anybody is willing to simply install plume and see if it will authenticate and give me a report I would be ecstatic. Also if anybody can tell me if they are having issues with having to manually toggle wifi when using Juice defender I would like to know. Thanks!

I'd also like to gladly add that it's rare that attitude flies around here unlike some of the other arrogant and egotistical forums out there that belittle everyone at the first opportunity and make people feel like they can't ask an honest and simple question without feeling you'll be ridiculed. BTW The Walking Dead episode rocked tonight! Haha :D

I know there was at least a couple of other people that were getting the red led with locked screen (blacked out) that could only be cleared with a battery pull. I haven't had it in forever but this weekend I figured out what causes it. I USED to run scheduled RAM whiping apps like Autokiller and such. A buddy of mine who is running a different phone and no rom was raving about a task monitor that had whipe scheduling capabilities. For quite some time I knew it had to be something like running multiple calendar reminders or something so I did some testing to finally clear my thoughts. I downloaded the app, ran scheduled ram whipe, plugged in the phone to charge overnight and made sure an alarm for waking up was enabled and voil

I'm just using the keyboard that came stock with it's own settings. I'm going to try smart keyboard pro

Will do and thanks for the advice :) Is there anything specific I should be looking for?

Edit: got the keyboard issue worked out. Thanks for the tip off!

Your Welcome ;)

I want to update everyone that didn't know that I no longer have a warp and went to the Galaxy Note 2. I give my full blessing to any aspiring n00bs (or even any serious "devs") who want to take where this ROM left off and tweak it any way you want and post in your own new thread. Just mention me in the OP and retain n00b in the name of the spinoff is all I ask.

I am following along as questions come in, we do have a great family here and it's awesome to see so many n00blings spread their wings and pitch in to help out. I am rarely seeing any "new" or unanswered questions come up which is why I have been so quiet.

I had a couple questions from friends getting the GN2: will I be creating a ROM for that phone and what ROM do I recommend. That phone is super high profile and because of that there are amazing developers who already have come out with what I would call "near perfect" ROMs, so so far my answer is NO, I probably won't be doing a ROM for the GN2. My current favorite is Jelly "beans" ROM by beanstown over on xda, (and no, it absolutely will NOT work on the warp for any n00bs wondering, LOL)

Missing my warped family a bit, so it does me good to see you all still supporting eachother and that the work I did on this ROM is still valued. I think it's a good ROM to tide over some people until the CM10 project gets more ironed out.

What about System and Cache? You're supposed to wipe everything. Or you could try with the superwipe tool? I think thats what its called?

Sounds like a bad download, re download and check the md5 on post one. No wipes necessary, the zip wipes system data and dalvik and cache. Bootloop to me says bad zip.

Also make sure you download the full install and not the update

To check the md5 do i look in the properties to see if the md5 matches the one in the post here?

Just from my experience with this rom, it seems to work better with CWM than TWRP, but again only my opinion............... :D

If I flash MrBobos nOOb rom and I want to go back to stock how would I do that? New to flashing roms, just learning and don`t know how to reverse it.

If you did not make a backup of your stock ROM before flashing nOOb then your best bet would be to check in the All Things Root Guide for a stock ROM to flash. You would flash it through recovery just as you did this ROM
