Yes I seen some speed tests for atlanta it might at that.Looking like a no go. Worth the try though. Luckily +42 is blazing in my area but I would like to see what the LTE speeds are looking like.
Might be worth me hopping on the $30 plan for one month to see
Or even just get on a pay as you go, $3 per day?

Well after some real world test I am surprised and pleased, even with no bars connected to LTE and web surfing the pages load immediately. tried facebook it was a failure but expected that, opened this website it was fast.
youtube quick very little buffering time. same for pandora.
much faster then on hspa + almost as fast as on wifi.

No, no Metro presence here at all. No US Cellular either. Rochester was once a large city back when Kodak was a powerhouse, but when digital photography became the norm and film photography died, the city died with it. I think we're like the 100ish largest city in the US. We were an initial launch city for Verizon LTE, and we got AT&T LTE last fall. No Sprint LTE yet, but we did get WiMAX love.

After talking to a dude I work with that has the Note 2, he said he has been getting lte. Even though I've been anti lte because most speeds I've seen with other carriers have been what I'm already getting with +42, I'm kinda interested now.
But if I can get 25+ consistently then I'll be heading back to tmob until ST gets lte added. If that is.

Sweet, thanks for all the instructions. Finally just tried it, I didn't even know T-Mobile had LTE in central FL...
I'm actually getting slightly slower speeds (6-8 mbps vs 3-18mbps on HSPA+), but more consistent with LTE. And the upload are ridiculous... HSPA+ jumps all over the place with the wind blowing...

That will improve, Fl markets just barely opened up in every city they have started like that, during the testing speeds are low but when they get it set up it will be fairly fast.

I am happy to report that upon getting a new T mobile SIM activation pack, I am able to get LTE. I have no bars but it is showing.
With that being said, I also bought an ATT Go phone SIM pack and I think I'll set up shop on their $60 plan once it goes live. I'll be more than happy to pay more than I'm paying now to have ATT's coverage and LTE speeds.

Are you in an area that has AT&T AWS coverage? Might want to check first before you waste 60 dollars. I know there aren't very many locations with it which is why I ask.

I'm in baws coverage with ATT at home and work. The only reason I haven't gone with them previous is because their HSPA speeds are TERRIBLE. I used ATT when I first hopped on ST many moons ago and it was terrible. Granted the coverage was excellent and indoors quality was amazing unlike T mobile but I couldn't handle the speeds. Now that LTE is an option I have no problems going back with them.
But if they do have a daily option like T mobile then I'm gonna try it out first just to double check.

What I mean is that most of AT&T's LTE is on the 700 MHz band, which our phone doesn't support. There's a very few set of markets that have 1700/2100 support, though I've never seen the entire list.
Edit: FCC has a list of who own which spectrum and where. It's a little slow to navigate, and doesn't tell you if the towers for it are active yet though.
For example, I found that in my city as far as AWS goes:
AT&T owns the 1710-1720,
T-Mobile owns 1720-1730,
Verizon owns 1740-1755

My buddy works at ATT and he's saying that he's been seeing it but what I didn't think about is I'm about 50 miles from his store. Trying to get an actual current list of AWS markets from him.

yes unless you want to buy a att lte phone you will not want to get the plan without verifying if the nexus 4 will work.

Ouch. No +42?
It's better financially for me too. Both my GF and I are on the 30 dollar plan and are saving 110 dollars a month! And believe it or not, I get faster download speeds on T-Mobile's HSPA+21 than on Verizon's LTE here. Verizon is soooooo congested here. I couldn't pull better than 5mbps on Verizon LTE with my Gnex, yet average 7-10 on T-Mobile HSPA+21 with the Nexus 4. I'd like +42, for more speed, or LTE for better upload speeds, but overall I still say I made the right move. It's hard to argue with an extra 110 dollars a month, lol
