Root [MetroPCS] [WIP][ROM] Flashable Rooted 12B Stock Rom

First....Angablade... Thank you very much!
Secondly...
Not if you are already on it but you can use Nirhazines method using voodoo root keeper here Two ways to get rooted B12 - Android Forums it worked perfectly for me minus the details I put in a post on the thread

That worked for me. NO more notifications after rebooting with VRK

Ok anyone know.... If I have the "other" TCWM recovery I can still boot to that other one to do the .....
Requirements: Must have access to CWM.
1.a: Download this, and place it on your SD card.
1.b: (optional) download GT's kernel and do the same.
2: Reboot into CWM.
3: Factory Reset
4: Reboot into Android
5: Reboot into CWM.
6: Flash what you downloaded.
7: Reboot.
Without fluxing the whole F6?

Right NOW I don't have ANY Goo-girl anything running on me F6 and getting 2 - 12 hour days with 2 Hr. calling /Day and with 2-2 1/2 Hr. / Day. videoing.
Im dnloading apks from Goo-girl Play thru laptop.

Thirdly....SRNAQ (super real noob alert question.)
??????
Game Theory Xperion ROM.
Does that work on F6?

I need a Custom ROM sooooo much.

Questions about this process...
Step 3: Factory Reset - This is to wipe the data after the phone is booted into recovery, right?

Step 4: reboot into Android - Reboot the phone to "normal" mode and not CWM?

Hi,

I'm guessing this is the right thread for me...

Android version 4.1.2
Kernel Version 3.4.0
Build JZ054K
Software version MS50012b

The last part with 12b means to root I should follow this guide and not the other F6 guide right?

Cheers

The 12b comes from software version. If you're on stock 12b and not rooted then you need to head here:

http://androidforums.com/metropcs-o...ide-using-kdz-get-back-ms50010i-firmware.html

Once back in 10i, install the following app and select root option.

http://androidforums.com/metropcs-t...things-root/844417-app-root-saferoot-app.html

You should now be rooted on 10i. Install Voodoo OTA Root Keeper (or equivalent) and backup SU and perform temporary unroot. Reboot. Perform OTA update for 12b (something like 39.x MB).

You forgot the step to install rootkeeper app or custom recovery BEFORE upgrading to 12b, otherwise back to 12b and not rooted, because the 12b update REMOVES ROOT.

Hi All,
I bought Metropcs LG F6 today and unlocked it. It version is

Android version 4.1.2
Kernel Version 3.4.0
Build JZ054K
Software version MS50012b

I want to upgrade this with latest ROM/firmware and root it to get best possible experience. Also need to put linktoSd to expand storage. Please help me where and how to start. I went though this thread and confused. I don't want to use ISIS. I will be using this phone outside US and want smooth function without issues. I will be not able to update or keep flipping ROMs on this as it will be used outside US by family. So needed an very stable ROM. Even if it few version old I am fine. Just need to able add in app from playstore or external without issues.

Thanks in advance..

This rom is not for you. You are already on this version of firmware. You need to root your phone first. Pick a custom recovery (CWM or TWRP). And research the rom for you.

So that mean don't do anything with ROM and just keep Metropcs ROM and just root it ? How do I root and install link2sd to increase memory for apps. pointer to right thread or step by step guide will be very helpful. In this thread people are upgrading to b12 even though stock version have b12 in it. This is making me confuse.

also best rooting options ?

TIA

Root Guide here

SD card swap guide here

Then use the link2sd guide here

How do I put a keyboard into the zip. When I install the rom the Google keyboard is empty.

Hey DLF
If you trying to work with windose you can unpack the zip / Iso and place the keyboard in the sys file(S). OR might try here for play by play how to. How to work with "kitichen" is post #3 to get started there and say thanks to lokeshsaini94 for the "Android Kitchen." Post is old but might help.

I don't have Linux, it corrupted last week and three re-installs didn't take, no booty. The devs would have a better explanation.

If you can't get zip unpacked into a folder running winders go ahead and "side load" most all apks without a googirl account go here...

I start with es file manager, since I'm not a "Rom cooker'/ dev," but like to promote anyone who wants to learn.

Happy romming!

I like your enthusiasm. But your just learning to walk. Take baby steps. Learn one thing at a time. Rooting your phone is a good start. Next I would suggest a custom recovery. Then maybe picking a rom. Research one carefully, then move to the next one.

Thanks for Trevor links. What about 12b update that everybody is talking about ?
also some of those link point to old threads. Are they still valid ?

What about ROM ? Dont't I need to put a a new ROM. Is CM11 ROM available and good compared to stock Metropcs ROM.

12b is just an update that everyone received, nothing much to talk about really, If those links weren't valid, i wouldn't have posted them, so yes, they are valid, no worries ;)

CM11 isn't fully stable yet, i'd recommend using the Xperion rom since it's a fully stable rom.
