anyone buying a RAZR/Rezound with the full intent to return it?

Anyone buy a RAZR/Rezound with the full intent to return it? Only to fall in love with it and no longer ready to return for the Nexus?

I'm just back from vzw with mg new rezound and this phone is sweeeet and very snappy. They knew nothing about the holiday return policy so I pulled it up and sure enough they said they'll definitelyhonor it.

I may keep this phone though, I'm liking it allot.

Me :). I was stuck on terrible Sprint service so I knew this summer I was jumping to Verizon. I had waited for SGS2 to hits the USA, only to be fully disappointed that it wasn't coming to Verizon, so I placed my attention on the GNEX, stayed up all night to watch the video release in China and everything. Purchased a RAZR on 11/11 and fully told them I would be bring it back when GNEX hits on their one of 20 different releases dates, but now reading more about GNEX, and having the RAZR for almost 2 weeks, I'm about 97% keeping the RAZR, but will look at the GNEX whenever it hits..

I can wait another 3-6 weeks for ICS to hit on RAZR, and that's really the only thing I (IMHO) see the GNEX being vast superior over RAZR / Rezound..
 
It feels so great to be free of droid charge plus Im not even worried about gnex release anymore... I just hope it's here before jan 15th so I can check it out and possibly return rezound for it.

Btw, VZW started an instore buy back program today. I got $162 for my charge and that was applied to my rezound.
 
What if the "rented" phone is returned a day or two BEFORE the 14 days and BEFORE the GNEX is released, will they give a refund and the opportunity to use the upgrade later for the GNEX?

For example: I buy the phone this Thursday, then Wednesday the 7th of December, I return the phone and the GNEX is released (for what ever reason) on the 9th of December...Will I be okay?

Anyone know?

P.S I posted this on the main thread but I don't know if that is where it is supposed to be. :)

I just returned my Razr tonight and was charged a $35 restocking fee.

My question is, after my account resets in about 24-48 hrs I will be eligible for an upgrade again. Can I pickup a Rezound when my account resets and still be able to return (another $35 restocking fee) and exchange for the Nexus?

So you were able to return it, get refund, regain upgrade eligibility? So by your theory, if the gnex isn't out by jan 14th, Ill be able to return my rezound for full refund and wait until nexus arrives?

I was told that you can only exchange....
 
I spoke with a rep today at Verizon and she told me that I could return my rezound before the 14 days and re-gain my upgrade then wait for the Nexus. Concerning the holiday return policy, the return is void once it's been activated after the 14 days. It's a gift return type policy only.

She told you that it was void after 14 days?? That's the opposite of what I was told today?..

I guess I need to call VZW tomorrow, speak to a mgr, and get some answers...

You may return or exchange wireless devices and accessories purchased from Verizon Wireless within 14 days of purchase. A restocking fee of $35 ($70 for netbooks and tablets) applies to any return or exchange of a wireless device (excluding Hawaii).

This return and exchange policy does not apply to customers who have purchased a Prepaid Plan.

Purchases made between November 15 and December 28, 2011 may be returned or exchanged through January 15, 2012. All other provisions of Verizon Wireless

Because the provisions are once you activate it. Besides already being told by 2 reps that its for purchases only its already clearly stated. You can purchase a phone and return it during that time frame but once you activate it you are bound to their exchange and return policy. That's what their "all other provisions" are.

Do so at your own risk.

Well I wish the employees would tell customers this when asked... They're clueless.. ANyways... What happens If I return rezound on day 13? Am I once again eligible for upgrade?
 
I was able to use my upgrade to Rezound after I returned my Razr yesterday.

I now have until Jan 15 to exchange for the Nexus!
 
returned my razr to Best Buy today before my 14 days were up. then went right over to VZW corp store and bought another one, will be returning it as soon as GNex comes out. renting a phone for $35 isn't bad at all, considering the nexus won't come out for least couple weeks (according to rumors). 1- 2 bucks a day, not bad
 
Not me. I got the RAZR with full intentions of keeping it IF it worked good for me. So far it does. I also needed a phone right now, wanted to see what LTE was all about, and if I had the money when the Bionic was launched...I might have that right now....IF it worked good for me.

I was thinking about getting the G Nex just to get my hands on ICS early..but in the end I just figured if thats the only reason why I wanted it....it wasnt worth it IMO. Seeing the release date is in Dec...there is a good chance the RAZR might get it around the same time the G Nex comes out.

I'm still interested in it....but not that much. My wants n needs are universal across all phones, so the G Nex doesnt have any 1 thing after ICS that says I have to have it. That screen is probably a beautiful thing tho. I like Amoled screens now. I see what folks mean about accurate vs. saturated colors. But it just looks so nice saturated...lol.
 
I have actually recently encountered this at work.

If you return a device within 14 days, you can not get a phone at the subsidized price for 6 months after that if you were starting new service. If it was an upgrade for your current service, I am not sure. Just wanted to let everyone know the policy for new service.
 
Not me either. I wouldn't waste $35 fee on the phone that will be used only a few weeks. I don't see the point of it when I have waited this much for Nexus. But if you really want to do it, I would rather use BB or Costco than dealing with verizon store.

I've wasted $35 on way dumber things lol

$35 isn't bad to have a great phone for a month while waiting on the beast. It helped me keep sanity as well!
 
Have any of you returned the rezound yet? Did they require you to return the headphones with it? I'd imagine so...?

Right ? I actually have money in my monthly budget for stupid things I call it my "being a dumbass fund"
