Root Awesome Android Update 4 Released

mmsc and dss, aren't set to zero on My Sequent running Awesome Android, with gapps and Update 2.

And, I also read the other thread, to the point, where once the proxies had been changed, there was a burst of speed, ... then reports came in that the speeds slowed down again.

Seemed to me a built in fail-safe was occurring to those who were trying this.

Just wanted to get into this, because, I haven't any proxy #'s to change to zero, in multimedia ... there are port's however, but we've been warned. DON'T CHANGE THE PORT'S TO ZERO! Warning's are good. They beat needing to re-invent the wheel every time you want to ride.

Any idea's about this multimedia ?? Am I missing something?
 
I'm noticing my speeds going right back to the way they were. I'm guessing boost watches for that sort of thing then throttles ya again?
 
What happens if you did Change the ports to 0? Cuz I think I did last night but nothing bad happened. However, as of today, no matter what I change now, the data is still slow. I'm sorry but 2 gigs is nowhere near enough.

Yeah i got throttled and proxies were set to zero and it was slower that slow....friggen sucks but what can you do.....2 gigs definitely isnt enough....don't know about the ports but if you have any problems with anything later i would look back to that lol....you can install the rom again to reset the hidden menu if u have to

have you gone back into the hidden menu to make sure the proxies are still all zeros? i'm asking because I had to go back in and redo it a couple of times myself, because I forgot to hit the menu button and save the changes, as opposed to just backing out of the menu after I made the changes
 
You're so fired. You didn't mention hitting the menu button and saving settings lol. So getting back to the proxies. A lot of them are labeled proxy port, now I'm seeing on here to not reset the ports. So specifically what do I need to mark 0?

So not to disappoint, but even after saving, my Max I'm pulling in is still only 30. Something I'm missing? Would it matter if I was doing this after i've already been throttled?

I dont mean to sound rude, but how in the world does being throttled and how to get around it have to do with Shins ROM? A Rom thread is for issues pertaining to the ROM, or releases and fixes. Not cheating boost out of data info. Just cause your talking about the proxies on the ROM doesnt mean your talking about the ROM. Hijack over on my end, you can continue if you'd like.
 
Here you can decide, sit around and bug shin about when his next update is, cuz I saw plenty of that, or discuss possible bugs or fixes that obviously concern the rom because we are using it. Thread hijacking? Anything free to do in this country anymore? Lol
 
Personally I figured I was merely doing shin a favor by keeping a discussion going and keeping people off his azz so he can progress with whatever it is he wishes to do?
 
The last time anyone asked for an ETA was on the 17th. Boricua told them it wasn't cool, and it hasn't happened since then. So that excuse isn't necessarily valid, but the intention was good, i guess. Have a good day sir.

I agree. the whole warp sequent section needs to be cleaned up. Make a couple stickies. Clean this beotch up a little. :banghead:
 
I'm thinking that the data/hidden menu discussion was in this this thread because Shin was the only one who's ROM wasn't stock and still HAVE the hidden menu... :smokingsomb:
 
Heres what i have so far.... the toggles are bein a pita. And I'm looking for a way to make the pulldown full screen.

Anyone know how I could get back to awesome kernel? Tried b09 kernel and can't seem to get back to it even after I reinstall awesome Android rom
 
I really hope you can change the Battery, WiFi, and Phone Signal icons in the status bar because they look very disproportionate in comparison to each other. the spacing is also off. I realize you're very busy working on other things at the moment, but just a suggestion. :)
 
I think if it wasn't for Shiru, we'd ALL be aggravated and possibly hating this phone. I bought mine due to the specs and was hoping that someone could root/ROM it to it's potential. We've been lucky that people like him with the programming knowhow had the same idea. I vote that everyone who is running his ROMs buy him at least a cup of coffee... He deserves it. I know I will! :D
