The Royals won again tonight but so did the Twins. We had our chance to gain on the Twins and didn't even show up. I'm still miffed. Boston won tonight and the Padres look to have their game won too. Not a bad night of baseball.

If the playoffs started tomorrow, the three wild cards would be the Orioles, Twins and Royals
The Royals ended up sweeping the Reds at Cincy. Their win today picked up a game on both the Guardians and the Twins. They need more of that and often. 
The Royals host a three game series with the Angels starting tomorrow. We should dominate that series but as all baseball fans know, any team can and will beat another sometimes when stats say they shouldn't.

Almost a good day of baseball. The Royals were host to the Angels tonight and won. The Padres beat the Twins for a double whammy I like. Boston lost is the only bummer. The Guardians start a three game series at the Yanks tomorrow. That is good no matter who wins.
It was a strange game.
They beat themselves again though, despite the cheaters almost beating themselves. Bad ball playing on both sides.
Tonight is the opposite of last night. The Angels whipped the Royals like a step child, the Guardians romped the Yanks in extra innings, and the Twins are up two at the top of the 7th against the Padres. Boston WON!
The Padres came back and got the Twins. I now feel a little better about losing tonight.
It was another good game actually; tie, go ahead, tie, go down 1, tie, go ahead...
That's my idea of a game. Even if I'm on the winning side of a blowout I'm less than entertained.

The Royals have tomorrow off and then host the Phillies for a three game series. They then travel to Cleveland for four games. It's put up or shut up time for the Royals.
The Guardians and the Twins lost today and the Royals won. They are now a game up on the Twins and a game back from the Guardians. I expect a lot of up and down between the three teams before the dust settles. It should make for some watchable baseball for a fan of one of the teams. I hope the Royals can remain in the hunt. I saw that Boston got smoked. The Padres are up seven through eight.
It was not one of their better efforts.

The ups and downs with the three top teams in the ACL are in full swing. Twins and Guardians winning instead of losing tonight and the Royals losing instead of winning.
With today's Guardians win, the Royals and Twins are now back three games. The Padres won their game against the Mets but Boston lost again to Arizona.

4 loss streak, they're on a roll.
Losing both games today hurts. The Royals won both games today against the Guardians at their house. I'm sure that hurt their feelings too. You always strive to split those at the very least. I missed the Royals early game and most of the second game. I understand the first game was a come from behind win and the second game was ugly early but the boys tightened it up and Salvador Perez had a 6 RBI game with two homers. His grand slam tied a franchise record for slams and his two homers also tied a franchise record for multi homer games.
With a rain delay, it was a very long game for the Royals. They won game three against the Guardians and are 7-2 with them this season. We are now tied with them for the lead in the ALC. The Twins lost tonight but they are only two and a half games back. It will be a fight to the finish. Boston Won and so did the Padres.
Last night's game was great, a nail biter to the end. I do love a well played game and certainly one that Boston doesn't give away in late innings.
I know that the Royals to not have an endless supply of quality relievers in their bullpen. It is still asking too much of your starter to have a shut down inning the fourth time through the order. We played good enough to win. Coaching cost us last night's game and a sweep of the Guardians that we are in direct battle with for the ALC.
The Royals had a terrible 8th inning tonight. A grounded ball back to the pitcher that put his bare hand up to protect himself or catch the ball??? he then picked up the ball and fired it to first base where the base runner ran into his glove hand. Both players left the game and I have yet to hear how serious they were injured. Four runs were scored giving the Astros a three run lead that they held through the top of the nineth. We were losing but losing players and the game is a double whammy.
Red Sox beat themselves in an otherwise good game against the Tigers. 2 - 1 loss due to a few bad plays, le sigh.
