Follow along with the video below to see how to install our site as a web app on your home screen.

if you have wifi at home I would suggest you switch to that when you're home. I do that with my N1 and get over 24 hrs battery life with moderate usageok so after having the evo for a few days im quite pleased with the battery. my current state is 25% battery left after 15 hrs of use. today i streamed a few videos, facebooked, emailed, browsed on and off all day, texted, and made calls....
pretty f'n good if you ask me. my only complaint is i still seem to be sucking a bit too much juice when the phone is just sitting. this could be because i only have 2 bars at my house...and i might have to do a bit more tweaking to get the most out of my battery.
oh and btw do any of you notice tiny horizontal lines on the screen (mostly visible in darker colors, but you really have to search for them) i talked to a couple of people that have noticed this, do you think its a problem? what should i do?
If your signal is weak it will destroy your battery. Sunday at work I left mobile network on, and I had to recharge twice over 9 hours. Today I kept it off while I was working,(Calls and texts still come in, just not data) and snapped it on during breaks and lunch for much needed internets and e-book readan. My battery was at about 40% when I got off. MUCH BETTER.
I've been using WiFi where I can and that seems to help. I don't use task-killers though.
A great widget is the "Power Control" widget - helps you quickly toggle settings when not in use. Including screen brightness - going from dim to automatic to full brightness.
Now that the newness is wearing down I feel like I can start finding things like a good static wallpaper and take off the giant twitter widget and such to start maximizing battery life.
Also, if you're like me I'm sure you have installed tons of apps to check out since getting the phone, but have since found ones you like better that do the same thing. Uninstall what you don't need any longer, because sometimes they'll pop up running in the background for no apparent reason.

It's all about efficiency. If you go back to use those applications you backed out of, they take no time at all to open up. If you kill them every time, and go back, it takes all the memory required to open it again, and more CPU to start the process up again. Seriously, with the exception of Pandora, just let the phone do it's stuff. I've not yet to install a task killer on my phone since I got it at 10:30am today. I don't intend to install one, unless I download Pandora. Pandora just runs and runs and runs and won't ever close out no matter how long you let it sit.
Basically, task killers are bad. Don't use them unless you KNOW there's a rouge app, and it's significantly bogging the phone down. I.E. some third party non-market apps, Pandora, the likewise.

It's really pretty incredible.
Where do you do that?one of the biggest things that helped my battery life was settings > wireless & networks > mobile networks and to uncheck "enable always-on mobile data"
I don't need a constant data connection. programs that sync will establish a connection and my gmail still gets pushed down.
with that, screen brightness down, turing off random hourly syncs...i've averaged about 20 hrs a day with lots of texts, internet and general showing this beast off
