Which one gives the best battery life
I've experienced great battery life w/ Tiamat and SavagedZen....I recently achieved 3 days, 10 hours, and 41 min. w/ SavagedZen's latest kernel. There was a lot of idling involved that weekend BUT that's insane nonetheless.
what governor were you using? i tried savagedzen 2.2.0 and i was getting pretty bad battery. then again i'm getting bad battery life with tiamat right now w/ smartass gov. then again i've always gotten pretty bad battery life with everything... maybe i just need a new battery...
SavagedZen governor.
do you use any setcpu profiles? i know you're not supposed to use underclocking profiles with a havs kernel but did you use a screen off or no profiles?
Tiamat, but some users results may vary. Make a nand, flash the newest one (4.0.3 I think) and give er a 2 day test drive![]()
Godmode is certainly not the best kernel for battery life (for me at least). I get terrible battery life with that kernel even with several charge cycles. Tiamat and SavagedZen have always given me great battery life...probably edge in battery life goes to SZ while performance goes to Tiamat. But I just flashed over to SZ 2.2 CFS just to see how the new updates are. SZ governor.
And I'm also pretty sure that running SetCPU with a HAVS kernel or even in CM7 won't cause any issues. At least it shouldn't. I don't see why it would. If I make changes in SetCPU and then check the CM settings, it always reflects any changes I made in SetCPU, so I don't think they're openly conflicting.
It's my understanding that SZ kernels come w/ SBC-on but there's another zip to turn SBC-off, correct?
I've always gotten the best results with the Poonkang kernel, not sure why but it's always been the most consistent for me. You can get the kernel via Kernel Manager from the market![]()
eek
o not use the app to flash a kernel, problems may arise
)

i have to try that kernel just because the name is hilarious.![]()

So far, I'm seeing great battery life w/ newest SZ kernel w/o SBC. Using the SZ gov as well. Thinking about swapping to smartass but I wanna see how this one runs first.
