Hey guys this rom is supposed to have Alien Kernel correct? I just flashed 4.5 and when I look in about phone it does not say anything about alien kernel it says 2.6.35.7-perf+zte-kernel@Zdroid-SMT

When I do a google search this comes up looking like the stock kernel.
Is IT?

Sorry if this sounds dumb but I was looking for a reason for this version not feeling as snappy.

I think Alien is super duper extra mega heavily modified stock kernel. But Alien is in there, trust me.

Same for me on any ROM with Alien.

This is what I always figured.

its a versioning issue with all n860 kernels. If you change it, it will completely break wifi.
it due to the fact that ZTE used proprietary wifi files, they could build them, but they have to match the kernel version.
Literally never had this issue on any other phones

That explains why dm made it add "Alien Kernel Owns You" to the build.prop... instead of just putting it in kernel version

I thanked everybody for answering so fast, I thought it was odd thats all cause I play with all my devices and when I change kernels on Nexus 7 or the Transformer Prime they always say something in the kernel section to ID it as a custom kernel.
Thanks for the explanation on ZTE exceptions now it makes sense. And here I thought I was being so smart and finding a simple omission that could have caused the drain on the battery....lol NOT!

I changed Boost Mobile by MetroPCS yesterday, because my beloved Warp was not receiving/making calls. I saved all to my PC, then formated sdcard, installed HB 4.3, same issue, then tried DroidSmith 1.7.3, ...same. I was thinking must be a cell tower issue at first but cannot recive/make calls at any place. My cousin works for Metro so I got an LG Opmtius L9 (4.7" screen, dual core 1GHz, 1 GB RAM, 4 GB ROM, ..., Android 4.1.2, etc).
Even when this LG have superior hardware cannot match the great developers Warp have.
I want to say good bye to this community where a medium phone feels like a king.

One more issue I wasn't going to mention until I flashed a few roms in a row to duplicate... I have about a 60% fail rate sending sms on HB. 100% fail if wifi is on... even if its not being used... Very strange... Anyone else?

I have noticed similar problems. Maybe not as severe as 60% fail rate for sms, but something. Also experienced issues sending sms thru google voice.

Sad to see you go man :(

I've been running this with no problems. Everything is super smooth for me. The 4g icon gets me every time.

Thanks for the great rom!

So I'm still running 4.50 along with a few system apps that have been modified, and its running pretty well... anyone else got similar results? My battery life is pretty decent inn this ROM as well, I've been going from 5 am to 1 am the next day on one charge with 30% left over yesterday...

Running it since last night, awesome smoothness, snappy as a swamp turtle and as always looking jelly-licious

Awesome, I'm rebuilding off 4.3, I've got Phone, Contacts, SystemUI, framework-res, and settings more themed, and I've still gotta work on the power menu. I don't like the current list of options, I can't unlock my phone in class then swipe down and over to get to Airplane Mode when I'm in school to save battery life in a place with no signal. So I will add them back into there somehow, maybe soon, maybe eventually...

Assuming this fever leaves me in bed all day, I'll be able to work some more on it, and then hopefully have a test zip within a matter of hours with SOME of the new features. I've gotta slim this down because I think its the second largest rom, megabyte-wise... CM10 is about 150 megs, and this is about 130-140ish... and I know some people don't have the kind of bandwidth to be downloading huge files like that... I can download a 2 gig game in 10 minutes, so I didn't take this into account before, but I realize not everybody has the same speed so to make this easier to download, I'm going to try and get it down to 80 megs over the course of this rom to make it easier and faster to download.

Wish me luck guys.

Get well!

Thanks

I made some progress today, and this thing is actually beginning to come along nicely.... so I probably will have a test zip ready tonight with a few of the modifications implemented. It still needs more performance boosting though. I won't be satisfied until I can push this to scoring 8400+ on first and second boot.

Been running this over the past cpl days, with performance and gpu mods. no problems. Went to Osiris last night, good, but still needs a few tweaks. Cant wait!

Who's ready to do some testing for me for the next few days, eh?

HaloBean 5, RC Zero Point One: Comes with MASSIVE battery tweaks, rebuilt from last version that people said was stable, superuser fixes, theme modifications, performance modifications as well...

Click here... and remember to make a nandroid beforehand, some things can be unstable or be the cause of a nuclear war and destroy the entire universe and if you don't have a nandroid then you wont be able to restore your phone if the universe explodes.
