Root [Boost Mobile] [ROM] n00b (B10 based) VIII.II FULL Install 1/23/2013

The core apps did not change with the b10 update I did so the themes should be fine, it's up to the themers though as far as checking them for issues

And I'm not surprised that your getting a new phone. Gotta upgrade sometime. Reguardless, your rom has been my go to since the first release.

I gave my warp to a friend and keep his phone up to date with your newest version.

I am experiencing massive battery use since installing this upgrade...I am relatively new to this process and had no problems before. I don't understand what is draining my battery so fast.

What apps are you running? Is your GPS on? Do you have it on auto sync? Need some details to help ya out.
i like the rom, i want my phone to be good being used for music, facebook, news updates, weather etc...and texting...maybe this isnt the one i should be using? would love some suggestions on how to really get the most out of this phone and instructions on extending battery life etc. also, I was on a page on here that had a list of ALL the custom ROMs available for my device...where was I? lol.

I recommend a full reflash (full rom can be found in the OP), backup what you need and flash the full ROM again, you will loose data/apps etc but this ROM should not be draining battery. Something's not right, I can leave my phone on standby with wifi/gps connected and only loose about 3% of the battery over 8 hours.

Is there any plan to fix the flashlight toggle?

you mean the toggle in the notification menu, correct? No, I don't plan on fixing that, I just don't have the know how (I am no developer, just a modder LOL)

That said, did you see the flashlight app I included? you can install a one touch widget for that app on the desktop for the flashlight. Other flashlight apps should work for the most part too.

I know this will come as a shock, but I can't think of a better ROM as a daily driver. We have had a lot of discussion about LAG but frankly I believe at the moment this ROM is about as good as it gets and smooth as they come. Of course I hold all the other ROM builders in highest regard and there are a few others that I would say are just as good or close but you would be hard pressed to find something MORE stable, supported or smooth.

The suggestions I have made to turn off apps that update frequently or run in the background a lot were only aimed at people who say they are experiencing a lot of LAG and they are trying to figure out what's causing it. That's not to say you can't run a bunch of apps, I have news feeds, weather and other apps that are resource hogs running all the time and meanwhile use pandora regularly among others.

Battery wise, the best way to extend battery life is to keep apps that update frequently to a minimum, keep widgets that run and update a lot to a minimum etc. Another help is to get a bigger battery. I found a battery by acesoft online that's 2180mAh that fits under the back cover of the phone (some of the really big batteries come with a new back cover), it gives me about 30% more battery life than the one that came with the phone. I regularly go through a whole day and overnight with one charge. I haven't found a significant increase in battery by turning off gps or wifi, if you aren't using them with this ROM, they auto sleep until needed.

I did a factory reset/wipe. flashed the ROM...wiped again and re booted and it seems to be behaving much better. Thanks for all your help.

OK I've flashed every rom available multiple times and I think I may have just F***ed up...
I was using TWP and wiped sd dla/cache and did a factory reset and now it says I have no OS? I can't find my micro to macro adapter to put a zip on the sd at this point any thoughts?

Update:: my dumbass wiped the sytem now I'm screwed I guess

If you can hook your SD card or your phone to your computer, no worries, just put the rom on it and then go back into recovery mode and look for it on the card and install

Yep, Plugging the phone itself into the computer will let the PC see it as a removable drive only, remember to turn on usb though!! quick file drag an drop should do it. Boot to recovery, flash the rom, good to go. :D

It's not a big deal, download the rom to your computer, boot to recovery hook the phone to the computer and mount the SD card in twrp, then you should be able to see the SD card as a drive and transfer the rom, then flash it and you are good to go

Thats what I probably should have done Bobo but didn't know how thanks for the info on the next go around though. Luckily my boss is a photoghraper so he had one of the adapters in his office.

good team...hell nobody else is doing good roms for zte anymore you should have the best team.

I do have whats probably two stupid questions though....how do I go back to your last keyboard and how can I permenantly get rid of boat as I use dolphin instead?
