Root [Boost Mobile] [ROM] Warp OEM 2.70

What do the adreno tweaks do? The description isn't very descriptive.
"A flashable to add the Adreno Tweaks (by CosmicDan and Spizzy01 of XDA) into any version of Warp OEM from 2.00 through 2.53, which will majorly boost GPU performance. Special thanks to Dizzle1 for customizing the initial tweaks for the Warp and Blyss for confirming they work on WOEM 2.53! May work with some other ROMs as well, but this cannot be guaranteed."

Here's the thread on it from Blyss.:)

Or tell us where the apk can be snatched from? Another rom perhaps?

When BLVCKHVLO and I were making the CTmod mod/theme mix, he told me he fixed the sync icon (if it was deselected/inactive in the quickpanel the image wasn't there, for those that have/ had CTmod) just by porting the quickpanel apk from another rom. I suppose that you could just extract it from any rom that has it working, or look for the thread with the CTmodmod and look for the quickpanel apk in the /system/app/ directory.

Thanks Skinny, Too much work for me:( I'll wait.:)

I just used root explorer and ripped the apk from another rom that had it. I can try to upload it to a dropbox but not familiar with how to do that.

Might wanna switch to Copy.com, they're generous with space and its much more reliable than dropbox. I've never ever ever had an issue with Copy :)

And it doesn't really say that much more in my thread so here's the gist:

AFAIK it basically scales back some of the settings in order to favor performance over quality. If you know anything about GPU rendering then you probably know what mip mapping is for instance. Basically that tells the renderer to use lower quality textures for stuff further away because the extra detail would be lost anyway. I think one of the things the tweaks are doing is doing that more aggressively, for instance. I'm not sure though, but I do know they basically favor performance over quality.

It doubles your score in antutu, so it probably will give you a 80-90% boost in frames per second. I have tried it out with a bunch of games like the sims free play, asphalt 7, beach buggy blitz and it makes a MAJOR difference in real situations, not just on your benchmark.

I've tried to do some comparisons by turning the tweaks on and off(near as I can tell all the flashable does is make an init.d script to copy adreno_config.txt or whatever it's called to a directory where it will be used, that file contains the settings and I read it. Anyway if you remove the script and the config file it will turn the tweaks off). At least on our 800x480 screen, I can't tell the difference in quality with them on and off, but I can tell a major difference in frames per second.

Anyway, first post from my new laptop. But We've got company right now so I gotta shut my mouth and pay attention to that.

any idea on new version of warp oem, like 2.53 just eager for newest one

Hi, Chief! And welcome to AF!

Honestly, with as much as I have going on with work and such, and as many changes as I want to include in the new version, it'll probably be a while... somewhere on the order of several weeks. I'm glad you like the current latest version, though! Hopefully it's capacious enough to hold everyone over until 2.70 comes out! :)

thanks for welcome, i had tried it before but had issues so went to noob rom. i liked alirn but not the alien head for battery icon. alien was tweaked nice and also some others, retried oem install with cell completely wiped twice, cache and dalvik working with no issues now. still havent tried everything yet but really impressed. like flashlight for one, i have never seen led light up so bright on this warp. it feels like its been rejuvinated...lol
i did use tweaks and other zip for screen issue but didnt know how to do script? sorry and noobish

Not a problem at all! That's what we're here for. :)

Yep, a complete wipe is definitely the best way to install this ROM. Glad everything is working well for you! And as good as the current version is, I hope to make the next even better!

I'm not sure I know which script you're referring to, though. Could you give me a little more detail on that one?

Anyone here have any thoughts on the security of the phone with regards to the NSA, police or other groups? Has anyone tried encrypting this phone? Can anything be built into the OS to make things safer?
