Root cant get to recovery

If you can get your phone up and on a normal status. Plug your phone in and select disk drive on your phone . your computer will then recognize it as a mass storage device Then you can copy the file 36 file to your phone

Did you figure this out?

Not yet, he is pm'ing me. Its my bedtime, it would be great if you could help him. 230 here. gotta work in the am.

He cant get out of hboot, computer doesnt recognize phone (not sure here, he said it makes a noise like it found hardware, asked what happens in device manager), and doesnt have a card reader. He either needs to get a card reader and flash a pc36img from hboot for recovery and wipe some shit and reflash or a pc36img for sprintlovers. Or troubleshoot his driver issue and get the pc to recognize the phone....

I,ll try.. but from what you just said it sounds like its being over complicated....(makes a noise?????????)..send him over I am wide awake and off tomorrow( btw this is mbancroft... Had to change my username)

No not yet. evomattnc and beastinbolts gave me good advice but I don't think it did the trick. I purchased an sd card adapter and downloaded and saved the pc36img.zip to my sd card. I actually used multiple ones and with some the hboot would recognize it and ask to do the update. (which I thought was going to fix the problem and I got really happy.) But then when I rebooted after the prompt it just continued with the looping from the white evo4g screen, to off, back to the screen, and off again.

What pc36img file where you using?

I used a couple from the post from akazabam. All the ones for CW and one of the stock ones. I initially searched for the one that matched my hboot, but none had any positive effect. The furthest I got like I said was it actually "seeing" it and asking me to update. I hit yes. Then hit yes to reboot, but alas...still stuck in the loop after

Those were to flash a custom recovery...can you get into recovery now?

no..I thought that was what my phone was missing so if I flashed it then I would be able to access recovery. Like I said...noob. What should I do? I have the sd adapter now.

No recovery is like a separate os that is separate from your normal os that only runs specific tasks. It won't help your phone boot but we were trying to get it on there so we could wipe and flash another rom.

Go to the link in my sig and try and flash the pc36img for sprint lovers, deodexed, odexed, doesn't matter. See if that will flash successfully.

Its never done with before. Its actually updating the boot and radio and so on. What will be my steps after this if it works?

No when u down load sprint lovers or what ever Tom u chose .... you will then go in the recovery that we got working earlier and ..1wipe catches ...delvic and cache and factory reset.... then got to run. Zip form SD card and then select sprint lovers

Yes sprint lovers has everything packaged with it. I suggest it as a fix all lol. Also it's the only one I know that has a pc36img file instead of a zip

No dice. It updates everything. All the way down to the wimax then it askes if I want to reboot. I select yes and it jumps right into the loop going to the white screen and off. White screen and off. Then when I turn it on using the volume down power button mode it prompts me to start the update all over again. I think its a lost cause....
