CM 10.1 - Jellybean 4.2.2

Two things I don't like about this ROM (so far). One, T-Mobile tv doesn't work on this.
And two, nobody can understand me during phone calls unless I yell.
There is no noise supression setting or anything like it that I can find. It's bad enough to revert back to ICS I guess.
I'm bummed because I otherwise like it.

Before you go back, tap your phone button, tap your menu button, tap settings, noise suppression is about half way down. Change it from whatever it is and see if that helps.

I'm not sure about tmo TV. Does it work on rooted phones?

Quack. I found the noise setting.
I should know by now to never doubt you.
Yes, the tv works on rooted devices.

What I can't find now is the USB Debugging setting (not that I need it right now).
Thank you, Atmazzz. You are the man.

I'm not sure if the noise suppression thing will help you but I've seen it suggested.

For developer options, it seems like there may be a setting you can change but I can't remember. So go to settings, about phone, scroll to the bottom and tap build number 5 or 7 times and it will come up in settings.

One more thing. Just out of curiosity, where would I find "clear RAM"? Long pressing home doesn't bring it up like it used to.
This phone is running perfect right now and I don't need to gain any memory; just a curiosity thing.
Thank you

Good question. I don't think I've ever used it. You can download android assistant from the play store. Under tools it has a cache cleaner and a system cleaner.

Same here. Smooth as butter, good battery life, everything works well (except wifi hotspot, which I have no use for anyways).

Are you on the latest nightly? Hotspot and tether works for me. I think they had it fixed after nightly for the17th or18th.

Did changing that setting help your call problem any?

I sold the t989 but before I did I was on the 0219 nightly and holding home button would bring up the current apps.
On that note I actually sold it for more then I bought it for. only by $10 but it sold within 2 hours, I might have got more out of it if I had tried. lol
I sold it because I bought the nexus 4.

.

I will update. It helped a lot thank you.

I just checked and 0224 is the latest. I need to update mine too. Glad the fix helped. :)

Enjoy your new Nexus! :)

Thanks I am, its running cm 10.1 nightly's, I thought I would keep it stock but rooted for a few weeks, but I missed having all the options.
The few things about newer android that annoy me, the google search bar that cant be removed from the top of the screen. and when they hide all the tweaking controls.

i flashed the newest nightly but the battery life is horrible..its draining 1-2% every few minutes..is there something i missed..are there any different kernals?..thankful for any help on this

i ment to post this under mr.atmazzz battery life post about losing 1% an hour..sorry. and thanks again.

Hi dame. My phone has been on the charger since I flashed the 0224 nightly so I don't know if something changed. Did you just wipe caches or do a clean install?

There are a couple of different kernels but I'm still using the stock kernel with no problem.

i did a wipe of dalvik cache and cache partition and factory reset, i even formatted system, data, cache in mount & storage...ive tried re-flashing the rom but still same issue..can u tell me the other kernels plz, maybe that will help..i want to leave it as is but i cant tolerate this battery life

Check the second post in this thread. They are listed there. You might also try the previous nightly.

Yes they will work with CM. I haven't tried either so I can't tell you much. I would just read through those threads and see what others have to say.

do u think its a good idea to use juice Offender when flashing different roms, shouldnt it speed up the battery cycling process?

I tried juice defender once. To me, it caused more battery drain using it. My battery life on CM 10.1 is better than anything I've ever been on.

juice OFFENDER..it drains battery on purpose..for the draining n charging cycle part after flashing
..i read somewere that a person should kill then recharge the battery a few times after flashin roms.

I've never tried that. I think there are about as many opinions on batteries as there are android phones. Battery calibration is good, battery calibration does nothing. Discharging completely is good, discharging completely is bad. I just leave mine alone and it takes care of itself. :)

Here's a discussion with a Google developer that has been going on over a year about the battery.
