Root Custom recovery on x!!!!!!!

He meant it didn't have anything to do with Koush's recovery. It sounds like you'll have to do an update.zip which you can do from the standard recovery.

You get there BTW by holding home and power buttons.
 
Well sorry this is becoming fix my phone hour but I attempted the update.zip and it can't find the file on my SD card. Also I searched with astro and root explorer and can't find that file. I know I never touched that file so I'm not sure why it wouldn't be there. Is there a file dump that I can get that file?

I wouldn't worry about it. He just removed rains busybox and put in a different one. It's basically the same for now. But I would guess he has it on the his site also. sorry don't have link

What Update.zip are you expecting to find? did you download one? Is your SD card mounted?

I am somewhat new to this so sorry if I am asking noob questions. So its not abnormal to not have update.zip on SD card? If so thats cool. I did however solve my reboot to recovery using Koush's app. I noticed that I didn't have superuser app installed for some reason when I re-rooted my phone. All the root apps were working as normal so I didn't realize it. After reinstalling superuser I ran Koush's app and it worked as normal. Kinda funky but got it figured out.

It's normal NOT to have an update.zip. You will need to download one before you can do an update. After you do an update though that file will still bethere , so you could have. So you will need to store it later or delete it just so you're not confused or do an update with the wrong file later.

I'm assuming that the Froyo that is supposed to be out soooon will come in an update.zip file if that is the case then once it is on your sd card you go into recovery (either Koush's or the standard one) and select update.zip then sit back until it's done.

Their's is 2.2 rev2 while P3Droid's is 2.2 rev6. I'm going with the latest fw. Not to mention he already rooted his 2.2 and he will show us how.

Yeah this is supposedly a release candidate. If your refusing because of Koush you don't need to use his recovery and this isn't his 2.2.

ok so how do we keep root with this. Also does this contain JIT? what about flash? are we a go for that as well. I have the file, just sitting on until I can find out.
