When trying to click on the CWM and RAIDRAZR links it takes me to a blank page.

Is anyone else having these isues and is there a mirror link or another site it's uploaded on?

Same here. I plan to install all this and take care of the donation at some point in the future. I've been too busy to fiddle with this idiot box phone; it's not even rooted yet. Hopefully these developments will make the phone exciting.

I just rooted my phone after purchasing it in early November. The Root worked perfectly for my LG Esteem. I would like to thank all the developers and testers involved in the process for the Root. I really appreciate now having control of my phone.

I was a little to antsy to remove the bloatware from my phone such as DeskHome, ImSocial App (Facebook, Twitter, AOL), Loopt, Google Books and a few other Metro Apps. I know there is a thread for the Metro Apps Restorer and I can restore majority of the Bloatware by just downloading the Stock apps from Metro.

I should have ran Titanium Backup from the beginning but I did not. Now, I just Backuped all user apps + system data with the app.

Just in case I have a problem with my phone and I need to utilize my insurance thru Wirefly, I will just have to Unroot the phone using the install script and install the missing Apps.

I would like to know what the "cwmrecovery" and "stockrecovery" image files used for. Will the "stockrecovery" image be utilized by the UnRoot install script if I need to go back to Stock Android? When will the "cmwrecovery" image be utilized? If I have to UnRoot, how will the "stockrecovery" image affect my phone? Will all of the system apps become present with "stockrecovery" or will it just revert the back to Stock Android?

Sorry for all the details, I just wanted to explain my situation and get some answers.

At long last we now have a custom recovery for the LG Esteem, actually make that 2 recoveries, Clockworkmod and Raidzero. Both are Release Candidates and still have a couple of minor issues to be worked out yet.

• USB Mass Storage doesnt work on either recovery yet.

• CWM, boot isnt listed in mounts and storage, thus cannot be wiped manually. Think I know the reason for this and I am looking to see if it can be bypassed.
• RZR, boot is listed but will not mount and wipe manually.

Both zips contain scripts for windows and linux, just download to your pc, unzip, and run the appropriate one for your OS. Both zips are All In One, meaning it will root and install CWM or RZR in one step.

• Download zip to your computer
• Unzip zip
• turn on and put into Internet connection mode
• Connect phone to computer via USB cable
• run the install script for your OS

Booting into recovery with the button combo is a lil tricky (gonna work on this) vol +- and power from power off, it will boot to the LG Reset screen, press power 3 times, dont freak out, it wont erase your data , and then recovery will appear. Some ROMs are already in the works n will be ready soon, one including reboot to recovery options in the power menu.

• Button Combo: VOL +- and POWER, press power 3x at LG Reset Screen.
• App - Quick Boot
• App - ROM Manager - no other features will work until CWM is submitted and officially built with RM support by koush.

NOTE: Root doesnt work for the ZVC update, just ZVA and ZVB, but the root method will be updated as soon as one that works is available.

NOTE: I will be updating RZR as I get the few issues left fixed, but after that I wont be supporting it due to what all I already have on my plate. It is a nice recovery tho with a ton of features. Not for the novice or complete n00b IMO tho.

and by the way when the adb ran nothing was valid it read all files that it was looking for did not exist so it stated that everything failed and you said to place it on internet connection so thats what i used

Lol. Really? I have these thoughts tho.

First of all if you really were dealing with HUNDREDS rooted phones and whatnot you should have known about these issues.

2 of all since you are so "experience", you could have done a safer and quicker way to be in recovery for example; "Quick boot", but action proved wrong.

3 of all i would like you to build a cwr where it's Perfect. it seems you don't know how much work have been put into account just to make this cwr.

4 of all that's not an appropriate attitude, the OP warned everyone about the risk you could uphold, but guess what! Because of your ignorance you "apparently" got a bricked phone.

You need to check yourself there pal. for one if your read it CLEARLY STATES ti will not work if you have the ZVC update, whihc it sounds like you have or clearly did something wrong on your end. I have personally ran both scripts prolly more times than you have with all of you 100's of phones and it not once failed.

I followed PG's instructions to the letter, and my phone is just fine... everything worked - just like he said it would.
Perhaps you missed a step?

Dont get me wrong i followed the instructions to the letter it just wiped my entire phone and now when it boots its just black screen but when power is off charging icon shows im trying to figure it out but its a pain in the arse

then re run it, this is 1000% confirmed. So honestly, this HAS to be totally user error.

make sure you put internet connection and usb development... and run that bat file as PG stated.

It has to work, WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY to many people have confirm it. Impossible for you to come and say it doesn't work. We've have been working VERY HARD to allow this to happen to anyone. There is never guarantees, but if you telling me that just cuz you ran it and it bricked your phone, i highly doubt it.

Lord knows, if anyone knows it works its me. I bricked the first time, but it was because i was the FIRST tester. You are clearly if anything almost in the 100 bracket of testers, in order words... Many people have confirmed this working before you.

I can understand frustration, trust me I experience many times over working on this lol, as did the testers n mt. Posting you had an issue or it didnt work for you is one thing, but there is nothing falsely posted here and everything posted was tested numerous time over b4 it was ever released n posted to the public. Also frustration, etc doesnt alway convey online as you should know if you use it regularly, and you seem to know about posting, so thats that.

I posted my responsibility in big bold red letters in the OP, so take responsibility for what you do to your own phone. I dont know what you did wrong or what you had done to your phone prior to attempting to install this. But I can assure you it was on you end, not mine or mt's, or anyone elses, so own up to it.

Is your phone even showing up with a driver in device manager with a COM? like COM4 or something? you must not have drivers properly installed.

I had this same problem with the phone showing up....Because I had no OS at all. When you turn your phone on does it show the lg screens then go to a black screen?

Not seeing exactly how you flashed it, then tried to reboot into recovery and doing a factory reset bricked your phone. Because i tried this just for shhhhts and giggles on my Esteem that has the C update, and of course everything failed to flash and even did a factory reset shortly after and the phone is 100% fine

The root is built in. Its an all in one root and recovery flasher.

I know this worked for other people im starting to think it has something to do with the binaries in my phone i checked and double check before i uploaded i was zvb and not zvc

what i did was

download the zip
then i extracted to desktop folder
then i went in and looked for cwm_Install_windows
i connected my phone
set to internet connection and debugging was checked
i then clicked install and adb opened
from here i taped enter to start script
scrip started deamon
then it went to a few thing didnt pay close attention
then it was on a # and zerlogs or something like that and it sat for a while then it said install failed
then from there it went through root tools and failed every install
but then after it stated cleaning up
then rebooting

and i know this is usually how it works but it never rebooted i had to reboot so i did into recovery and when i did i used posted method thats when the little envelope pop'd up i thought it was part of the process but no it erased everything and opened to a black screen i then tried quick boot with my AWK but it would not go into recover i tried volum+- plus power again and this time straight to black screen i then tried to read with cdma workshop lgnpst and adb shell and nothing it didnt detect my phone


so this is why im lost im going to try to push the cwm program again using adb to see if something was wrong with the initial install and maybe get somewhere

was the install designed for xp or 7 or all windows

Hi when I start the bat file it just hangs at "daemon started successfully" It doesn't move past it.

My phone is rooted and I have internet connection mode enabled and also debugging mode.

Exactly that is exactly what mine is doing right here except the lg does not ahow either just boots into black screen

so im not the only one cool only thing im absolutely sure im zvb

strange though when phone is off i do see charging icon

how did you fix this?
