Root CyanogenMod 7 Unofficial Beta 5 02/20/12

i know CM7 is pretty cool with the new google apps back up feature. i just re-flashed my phone with CM7 fresh, so i had no apps but what hroark added when u install. but once i logged into the market with my email info, all my apps i had prior started to re-flashing automatically download right back to my phone from the android market.

i did use titanium backups market doctor before. not sure if that had anything to do with it.

I tried s2e it worked fine foe me... but I went back to darktremor.... guess I am adverse to change
 
Great job wireless this hot fix works like wonders I Anita had an issue yet :D and my 3g is working just fine I'm never going back to stock couple of notes duo first note Google apps was hard to install took me 5 trust because of the com. Scripts. But its working and sec note gmail took forever I mean 3 days to sync and load contacts but I resolved this by exporting on stock back up then importing on new rom great work guys :)
 
Been running good a few days everthing is a go. Only grip can't tur the volume aslow as possible people a few feet away can hear who is on

I wouldn't worry about that. I noticed it happens when outgoing text messages are sent, which technically I think that is working as intended. We just have a ROM that actually shows it now. Think about it...how were text messages sent prior to 3G? It's been on feature phones forever. I kinda like it showing now in a weird way. Doesn't seem to affect message speed one bit.

Speaker phone same thing. And after a blue tooth call a following call on the phone itself will require mute and unmute as well.
A2sd works perfectly though you want to use the official one from xda you need to manually mount /system and /data in cwm before flashing the zip.
be aware and this goes for the person that reported /system/sd isnt working cm7 has it moved to /sd-ext so if a2sd creates the /system/sd you can just delete it.

Thanks for the review, Optimus. Sounds like a project for next weekend. The Hotfixes are being issued at breakneck speed, and sounds like most issues have been fixed.

Thanks to everybody for being the pioneers (arrows stuck in your back) on this one. Amazing accomplishment.

I did a fresh install and although pressing speaker still causes problem (people can't hear me on phone calls) the random reboots have stopped. I also found a way to get speaker working without muting me for those who want speaker phone bad enough. Call a number, I call my voicmail, turn speaker on then add call. Speaker phone will stay enabled. Now call whoever you originally planned on calling. Crazy but still better then nothing. Plus you don''t have to reboot phone.

And since I mentioned voicemail, has anyone figured out how to add the call voicemail bbutton back to dialer?

There is a setting, open the dialer hit menu go into settings, check mark the box for use 1 for voicemail.

Then you can just long press one.
 
One issue that will probably effect a small 1% of people. Using my call blocker Root Call Blocker Pro on CM7 the app functions as normal picking up the phone and hanging up on unwanted callers, but the phone keeps ringing even though the call has been disconnected. I can't make it stop ringing until I reboot my phone. On the 2.2 kernel I heard no ring at all.

Just wanted to say hi long time lurker since i got a prevail. was just about to try shabbymod when i found out about this so i put it off. this is my only phone so i might wait a bit to see if the bugs get worked out.

one question. does wifi tether work on this rom?
 
Just got back from a 70 mile round trip, got turn by turn voice directions
thru google maps, streamed a grateful dead show from the live music
internet archive, made and received calls, the music muted during call and resumed at the end of the call. Everything seems to work perfect. The music did have to buffer once in a while, but nothing intolerable.
 
ok first i have to say thank you to the people who have put in the hard work on this .... next i would have to say after some testing that this verison of cm7 is very stable and works better then expected
 
Sorry if this is already mentioned.. Short of time at the moment, but what is up with the "Roaming indicator off" on the lockscreen and the power control widget?

I already changed that to say Boost Mobile
look at post #289 download the file and apply it the same way you apply hroarks hotfix. the file contains hroarks hotfix4 and the roaming indicator fix.

I was wondering what caused that lol. I'm also using root call blocker and have the same problem. I really don't want to uninstall it so please let me know if you find a way to fix problem

Found another problem with speaker phone. Person that I am talking to hear themselves echoing, and it's bad enough so that they can not hear me at times. This isn't random either it happens on every call no matter who I call or where I call from. Problem has never happened prior to CM7.

I'm using the lite version of Call Control, and haven't had any issues. I thought about trying out root call blocker the other day, I'm glad I didn't now.
 
how come i cant open hiddenmenu.apk>build>apk>androidmanifest.xml internet explorer gives me this error:

The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

The thing I like about Root Call Blocker Pro is it blocks calls at the kernel level so you don't hear your phone ring at all. All the other call blocking apps I have tried I could always hear the initial ring before it blocked it. Can you hear the phone ring with Call Control?

@Hate I just went back to CTMod for now to see if they can figure out whats causing the constant phone ringing.

I don't hear a thing with Call Control just silence. Lol. I just wish that you could block the callers from leaving voice mails.

I wish, at first, it was all the companies I owed money, now it's the same companies wanting to loan me money again now that I paid them off!

you don't edit anything in the build folder, that folder is created when shit is compiled

just edit the androidmanifest.xml inside the hiddenmenu.apk folder if thats what you want to do. editing the manifest may screw up the signature on the apk tho and the phone might reject it

use notepad++ for xml editing too

cm7 has a built in call block feature, though I do not know if it works, I just remember seeing it.

its located at menu/settings/call settings scroll down find black list.
