Root CyanogenMod 7 Unofficial Beta 5 02/20/12

as of right now there is no fix for texts past 160 character, so id suggest either cutting and pasting or usuing a program like handcent sms

Handcent does work pretty nice. Custom themes, skins, settings and such.. I use it. But if you go into settings it in the stock messaging app, there is a setting to split the text to 160. That worked fine for me.. I don't know if anyone else has problems after changing this but it worked for me. There are a lot of post about it in this thread. Just read back for more info.

I use handcent, and even paid for it so i can backup and restore texts, but i still get people that receive the scrambled messages even after i changed the split text to 160 option. anyone else getting this?

I have changed my buil.prop to these as well..My build.prop file looks the same as yours. Did you notice much of a difference? the only thing I've noticed so far is the camera quality got a lil better. What was your experiance with doing this?

mavrikmeercat, that's what i thought. im having trouble running the scripts tho. can someone help me? this is what i get when i try running the scripts.

I would try installing it from the market again and not from your backup. Also in script manager BEFORE running the script, press menu-->more-->advanced options-->config and make sure you have the "browse as root" checked and try to run it again
Tell me what you get...

Edit: make sure you Check run as root in the dialog box before you hit RUN
 
looks like the file name might be wrong.

the file name on your sdcard should read as:
3GTurboCharger_Installer_Update_3_RC1.sh.txt

if that doesnt work, try downloading it again. Oh and make sure you extract the zip before putting it on your sdcard if it is a zip

Hroark is working on another release using the gingerbread release from samsung. He started working on this before samsung came out with their gingerbread update so he created one to work with the pervail but since the update he is trying to use the one fron samsung because their drivers are probly better desinged for the prevail. But he has posted that it's been difficult trying to get it to compile so, its gonna be a while.

He has expressed that he doesn't want anyone to ask for ETAs so please don't ask when..

It was script manager. Trying out the scripts now. Thanks mavrikmeercat. Now i want to tweak build. Prop.
 
ok im experiencing a new problem. Ive got cyano mod 7.1 port for prevail made by hroark13. When i answer my phone i can hear ppl but they cant hear me but if i call them they can hear me fine. Any ideas what may be causing this problem???

I had that problem. It was fixed for me when i flashed version 2d. But when that happens, just hit mute then unmute and that usually fixed it for me

beta2 fixed that for me too.. You may still have some settings left over from ver1. Sometimes it doesnt completely wipe the pratitions when flashing. During my first flash to Beta2d I noticed some things left over from ver1 that should have gotten wiped. I ended up having to reflash it as well. Not advising you to do this but if it were me, I would reboot to CWM--> Mounts and Storage--> format system, data, and ext. then reflash cm7, hotfixB and gapps. This ensures a clean space to install on before flashing. The reason I would do this is because beta2 was made to correct this problem. Hroark made beta2 mainly to fix the sound issue.

Backup your apps with titainium backup or something similar before you boot into recovery if you do decide to do this

i never had version 1 had shabbymod 0.9 until gingerbread came out recently. I flashed to gingerbread with CWM and root then went straight to cyanogenmod 7 beta 2
