Root CyanogenMod 7 Unofficial Beta 5 02/20/12

How are you formatting? are you partitioning it as well?

I've used the standerd windows formatting, and some formatting software that I don't remember what it is called. And I'm not doing and partitioning. Couldn't get a2sd to work and didn't really need it anyways.

Been ok but now when i try to install certain apks like ttorrent or anything from market or sd the phone crashes....and before hand says bad file url or something...........

I'm not sure if this was posted already or not, but is anyone else having the same issue with the camera button on the side of the phone not working. When I open the camera app and press the button, nothing happens. But I can take the picture tapping on the screen.

Thanks again for all the great work in this beta.

FYI - I saw under the setting that you can use the up/down and or power buttons to take the photo, but not the camera button.

i would format & partition right from CWM recovery on your phone. i tried doing it on the computer and for some reason it had trouble mounting it.

try from CWM with these settings 0swap / 256 ext and format

I know most of the people are using a2sd here but I use link2sd on an ext4 and its NEVER given me a problem at all and it auto links anything in I install so you set it up once and forget it... I've seen to many problems with a2sd so i wont use it

First of all I have to say thanks to all those who have created this mod. It is very awesome and works great. I have been running for a couple days and the only problem I have after updating to v2 is that when I answer or make a call with my bluetooth I still have to toggle mute and unmute for anyone to hear me. If I answer on my phone ( since update ) I have no problems. If could fix this then this mod in my opinion would be perfect. If anyone has a fix to this please pm me, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

How do you revert to the stock rom? i want to update prl and profile since im hoping this will solve a problem i keep gettting. my phone isnt receiving calls right away, the person calling me always waits about 4 rings before my phone even recognizes its being called. please help me as i need this fixed.

just tried that, it reverts me back to the stock recovery but not the stock rom. in case this is relevant, im not using the same sd card that came with the phone, in fact this sd card has never been in the stock rom only cyanogenmod.

lol, im running now the stock recovery with cyanogenmod.

So I finally got around to test the SD card. I formatted it using CWM and no luck. After I rebooted in it wouldn't recognize it. So I tried booting back into CMW and it won't recognize it there either. Tried different SD card and the same thing happened with that one as well.

the fact that you tried two cards means that its either a hardware problem with your phone or its cm7.

Question.. did you ever have problems with the SD mounting before you flashed CM7 ?
If NO you never had problems, I would suggest a reflash. formatting /system and /data in CWM first to make sure you get a clean install. (I had to do this too before everything worked right although I didn't have any prob with my SD)

If it has always acted funny then that would point more towards a hardware problem with your phone.

Question.. What were you running before you flashed CM7 ?
If you were running the gingerbread update you may have to Odin back to EE14 before reflashing cm7.

the only issue i have is that root explorer goes to a black screen says its been granted superuser permissions then after like a minute says it stopped working unexpectedly and force closes should i delete root explorer and re install? an i keep seeing people comment on quadrant scores how do i look at my quadrant score

I never had problems before. Only since after I Odin to stock then to the GB update then back to EE14 then to cm7 have I been having problems.
I think I will wipe everything, Odin to stock EE14 the back and see what happens.

Update: So I Odin back to factory, seems good, check both memory cards that I have and .... nothing. Called Samsung and am going to try to get them to fix it. For the second time...

I could not get root explorer yo work either but the one that comes with works fine.

Search quadrant standard on market and use that to find your score.
