Make sure you reboot a few different times to make sure its mounting everytime

please let us know what the symtoms are so we can direct you to the proper method of recovery.
I would only instal things that are recomended by the person who built this ROM or it has been tested by a good # of people and confirmed it as working.

I created a backup and restored most of it. My problem was the lockout screen fragged out on me, but still was able to go into the desktop mode. I then checked the lockout screen settings, re-booted, and it would shut itself down each try, which I did 3 times.

In the process of restoring apps for now.

I believe what you experienced is called a bootloop.

There is a tested fix for the "Roming Indicator Off" thing. It is Posted in the OP as:

Beta 2 hotfix B

it changes it to Boost Mobile. Works great! I am using it on mine and have been for a few days...

anyone else having mms issuse after installing the last hotfix for the beta 2d?

as far as not being able to send or receive mms while on 3g, just to clarify.

no its just not sending or receiving, just keeps saying sending and nothing happens, i relashed the original beta 2d without the hotfix and it sent, i just flashed the hot fix and gonna test it out

edit: ok got it to send after i flashed the hotfix, so it wasnt either, gonna go like one or two apps at a time to see if one of them is causing this
 
Is anyone else getting really low 3G speeds? I get 170kbps download and 390kbps upload... Any ideas? I tried the 3GTurboCharger but it didn't help at all. Is there anyway to change proxy settings without flashing back into stock? Also, my battery isn't charging past 40%

Yeah I had that one too..
I reflashed it and fixed it

Sounds like you need a reflash. make sure you wipe the dalvik and cashe in CWM before you do just to be sure.

please explain more of what your running and if you have themes or morphs.

ur using the beta 2 right? the fix is the same one that sonic2wb made but just with different text on the one line. it worked for everyone else:

I just want to say hroark your the man ive been running cm7 since its release and following the updates and applying them and i love it i know alot of people prob got distracted with the ota update but i personally will be waiting for another beta thanks hroark13 for all the hard work you have put in without you the prevail wouldn't be close to where it is today

Sorry monster.. I honestly thought that post was from some other thread. i just looked at what you did and I see that it is the same fix just no text...

had to be something else> some app or bad flash or user error of some kind.

Pirate88, are you installing the zip and then rebooting completely? or are you rebooting back into recovery and then installing another zip before booting all the way?

I flashed thru CWM, rebooting each flash. Everything is working fine now, although I used the hotfix/patch for the carrier ID, not the one I thought may have fragged the device. Now if I can figure out how to boost the 3G, then I can ride this one a bit.

I too am having horrible data speed. Did you reflash the whole CM7b2 rom or just one of the hotfixes in order to increase 3G speed?

I was on Beta 1, so that may have been the issue. I am using the stock ADW Cyanbread theme with no mods.

Yeah that had to be the culprit. Monster's mod didn't even exist til Beta 2. There was another fix for Beta 1 that just said "Boost Mobile", ironically that one never worked for me. Glad you got the main one working.
 
ok so i got some files from the gb released from samsung and copied them to a hotfix zip and installed it with cwm but it wont boot. it takes me to cwm menu.

First off hroark13 I want to say kudos, great job!! Second I did notice the whole market not working that you suggested the google apps. Now it's just a quick question. How do you install the google apps since it's in zip.? Just give me step by step if anything. I don't know if you answered this question already but I wanted to know since it's the only thing I have that's an issue with the mod. But thanks for the awesome mod though and thanks for the help! ^_^

Reboot into recovery -->install zip from sdcard--> choose install from sdcard--> install gapps-->reboot system now. Reboot system now again(sometimes) it will then take you through the initial android setup with your google account and sync and such...

and the recovery is hold up and the power button
 
I tried the recovery hitting the up volume button and the power button. It didn't give me the option to install the zip file. Am I suppose to use odin?

you have to have cwm. when you boot holding the power and vol up it should open cwm menu and theres an option that says install zip from sd card. theres also install update from sd card but dont select that one.
