Root CyanogenMod 7 Unofficial Beta 5 02/20/12

Ok i'm using EJ06 Gingerbread Rooted Image with CWM5 made by Chin Checka,
Which has carrier IQ...confirmed via the lookout security app available in the market.

I've had several issues with reactivating my device with boost.

can someone explain the safest and best way back to cm7?

i fear the phone wont activate after an install..

i would get your phone activated on a stock ROM before you put on CM7

you may also want to look into the CTMOD ROM, blood removed CIQ from it, and it supports activations and such

I would be so very happy if we were able to receive cm9 on this phone. I know cyanogen wont make it but i really hope that in the coming months after release we will be able to achieve it.

It works good where I'm located in N.C., but I am currently running Sprint's business PRL 1120.

The only problem is that you can not update the PRL o.t.a., or through CDMA Workshop if you are using Cyanogenmod.
That's why I'm in a tossup as to whether I as want to change a good thing and Odin back to change anything.

how did u change your prl i've tried using cdma workshop but it can never read my phone. im running ctmod 2.3 could that be the reason why?

i currently have prl 60017 and it suxs i get only three bars and downloads speeds of only 200-300kbps. i tried updateing the prl on the phone multiple times and i either get an error or it says no prl update

I changed my prl using CDMA Workshop back a few months ago when I was running Shabby.09. I'm not sure if CTmod has the hidden menu feature or not, but it probably does... Click over to the thread Sprint PRL on Boost, and it will have almost all of the info that you seek about connecting to Workshop.

Has anybody gotten swype to work with this? Love CM7 my girl t9. Phone runs much smoother and faster but she loves swypung. Anybody has the stock swype.napkins or link that works with this. Thanks

And that you have pretty much done already my friend. Just wanted to say (that for me at least) this is really not even a beta so to speak. Ive seen other ports that have a plethora of non working elements throughout the rom. Really really great work!

Oh and I believe the "roaming indicator off" text in the statusbar (just below the power widgets and above the time display in the lockscreen) can be fixed by editing this string

<string name="roamingText1">Roaming Indicator Off</string>

Within the framework-res.apk (res/values/strings.xml) to Boost mobile.
I figure this should work as it did for me when I was playing with my honeycomb theme. Except the string in the stock rom was

<string name="zz_roamingText1">Boost Mobile</string>

Almost identical. I cannot try as of now but, hopefully someone else can test out my theory and post results.

Hope this helps.

i been trying this for a while and i get stuck when i try to compile it back it wont. i get a error msg

ok i read about 6 pages of this gigantic thread and also searched. I couldnt find my answer.

the ear piece volume is sooooo loud, even with the volume turned all the way down. everyone around me can hear the other party.

is there a fix?

I have the same issue... I thought that Beta2d fixed but not for me

Don't work has sane prob when I used the EJ06 Barnabe. No probs with ee14
Monster you can sound very rude at times.

There was nothing rude about what i said. some people don't try the simplest things first, like rebooting. works fine for me on EJ06 and when i was on EE14.

between that and that and the lackluster battery life it makes me want to switch back to CTMod. I just think CTMod isnt very aesthically pleasing. I wish i could find an honeycomb or ice cream them for CTMod

I've tried a few times with EJ06 with no luck so went back and works on EE14. Lucky you I wouldn't mind the EJ06 baseband but can't stand people hearing what the other person is saying. But yeah you do sound rude sometimes. But I don't care you still have good tips lol

sorry if i sound rude but if you dont ask the right questions you'll never know how people operate, u know what i mean?

but yeah i hate when other people hear my conversations. however at one point i found extra sound settings that werent in menu>settings>sound. i will look later when im home and see if i can find them again.

edit: ive never tried this app but it supposedly raises the volumes, i'd imagine it could possibly lower them too ???????

i finally got cdma workshop to work it turns out it is not ctmod but gb. i returned to stock gb to see if ctmod was causing the problem and cdma still couldnt read my phone so i then flashed my phone back to stock froyo and cdma workshop was able to read my phone yay now my signal is great using sprints 60681 prl and my downloads are ranging from 600kbps to 700 better than before

Use the DSP Manage app that was included with CM7. In DSP Manage, select Headset under Equalizer, check the box to enable the equalizer. Then tap the Equalizer levels box itself, and a popup of the Equalizer level box that will allow you to change the levels will appear. Drag all levels too the bottom. Makes it so much better for phone calls, also do the same for your Headset, and you'll be able to listen to your music on headphones again without busting an ear drum.

Does anyone else have the issue where, intermittently, incoming calls ring through the ear speaker, even after you've answered the call? It just keeps ringing...and ringing...
