re: restoring system after titanium restore... do i have to do this for every app? whether i restore data or not? for user and system apps (although i would never restore a system app)?

Not sure for the GPS icon, but no once your done restoring your entire titanium backup list of apps then you do an advance system restore.

thanks. i dont always restore all at once. I like to keep some backed up because i dont use them all the time, so i just restore and delete and rerestore as needed so i dont have too many apps slowing down my phone

Go back to stock ROM then restore 5.3.1 after you do so do not exit cwm. Then do a factory reset and also wipe cache dalvik and fix permissions. If that doesnt work for you i have a build.that should fix tje problem.

How to install 5.3.1 properly

First backup all your apps and important files

￭Download the zip file UNZIP THE FILE it, Place it in sdcard/Clockworkmod/Backup

1. Boot into CWM.
2. Choose "Backup and Restore
3. select "Restore"
4. Then select ShEvRoNromVer5.3.1
5. confirm "YES "
6. wait for script to finish
7. reboot phone
First boot could take up to 5 minutes, the reason is because the ROM is going through its first boot and loading all the apps data etc.

Odin For $hevron ROM
So, if you bricked your phone or you can't save it from a bootloop because you did something you shouldn't have or something went wrong, I have made a backup to restore your bricked ultra back to Shevron using Odin.
Download: Odin for $hevron
Everything you need is in the package..
just download and unzip

TransformUltra.ops

This one will restore Shevron 5.1, ClockworkMod, and Bob's Kernel

I haven't had any problems with mediafire (although it may be a geographical issue), but I have noticed that android browsers like to never load mediafire. So if you're using your phone to download it, try using a computer instead.
 
:pcguru: so how do i install the themes and when? After first boot or right after rom install? themes work for 5.3.1 right? Are they flashable zip? If the info is already posted, can you tell me which post it's in?

after first boot to be sure but it should not matter, themes are flashable yes.
 
ok so i went to mediafire on the lappy and lo and behold it work. 5.3.1. successfully downloaded. i'm currently backing up my entire sd card to my wifes lappy just in case i fry everything at some point. thanks for the info guys and i'll let you know if it works.

this is the message i keep getting:

Thats all it says. i know im doing something wrong, i just dont know what it is.

You have to unzip it, its a nandroid restore
 
Is there anyway to make pink or purple themes for all of our wives please? That would be awesome? Anyone agree?

If 5 men here who have wife's that just happened to have the Ultra and would like a pink/purple theme i guess thoses themes could be aranged, at least 5 wifes though. If not sorry, manual theming is a pain in the anus and its not worth doing for just one person. I think mavrikmeercat and i can fix the UOT theme bug that dooesnt allow you to theme the ROM. If we get it working on 6.0 you will be able to make a UOT theme.

I asked my girlfriend if she would like a pink/purple theme chev and she said fug yeah i do lol.I told her u were the one who made the rom im always using(before i updated to 2.3.6 that is).So thats @ least 1 woman willing to pimp their phone will their be more lol?
 
Which versions have bobz kernel? Which ones have no flaws. I have to have gps.

One other thing to address now. When I go into about phone I get the following info:
Android version 2.3.4 (doesn't say gingerbread anymore and no 2.3.6?)
Baseband version s:m930.02xEG29
Kernel version 2.6.35.7-g4763763
Build number BobZhome_kernel_v2.1
Hardware version m930.02
Now does anyone feel like taking the time to educate me on exactly what all that means or is there somewhere for me to go to research it?
Oh yeah and when I try to update nothing happens (software or firmware) it tells me no update available or firmware is up to date.
