Doctor Who

I think it does a brilliant job of tying the classic series and the new series together in an elegant way that treats both with respect.

SPOILERS
What I thought of the episode:
Needed more follow up on the alien that brought the doctor to the art museum in the first place (don't remember name of alien :o ). Other than that, it did a great job explaining the time war and the timelock for the end of time episode. Honestly though, the episode didn't seem like David Tenant was doing his best acting..might be because he hasn't played his role for 2 years now..oh well. Rose wasn't really Rose but was there because of Rose. Matt was good but he's acted better. Everything did make sense, though there really should have been a paradox...but that didn't happen because the doctor still thinks he destroyed his home planet this whole time when he never did in the first place. Does anyone else think it wasn't as good as it could have been, or is it just me? How did all the previous doctors know to help time lock the planet? Maybe I missed that explanation?

I missed it the first time too. If you watch when the blonde woman leaves the room requesting a file. If you look to the right you'll see the zygorn shadow.

Having all the thousands of dalek ships simultaneously shoot each other in the same instant, with absolutely no survivors, seemed a bit flimsy to me.

Also, a friend pointed out - if Galifray was never timelocked, how do you still have the big showdown with Rassilon and the others escaping it in the Tennant era?

Question regarding your thoughts:
[Hide] what aliens are you referring? The people that brought The Doctor and the TARDIS to the museum was UNIT via helicopter.
Disclaimer: First, apologies for the rant, please know I love the show but I just dislike what is done to the plot sometimes.

So I actually found the main plot to be terrible and too cheeky for the Time War. They took a part of the history that was magical, unfathomable, beyond comprehension and made it trite and cliche.

I know the show is cheeky and hammy and corny and all sorts of cheap humor, and that is part of why I love it. But I hate how Moffat rectons huge and important parts of the history with "jar jar binks" style writing.

I really liked the bit about the fez and Tennant, Smith and Piper were awesome as always And the new girl Clara. She's adorable. (where were Catherine Tate and Freema Williams and Jack Harkness and Amy and Rory though?)

But really, the fall of Arcadia should have been more epic. Fun & happy episodes are great, but not for the major parts of the backstory.

Think of the episodes with The Master, the end of time, etc. These were much more epic portrayals of Gallifrey.

Dont get me wrong, Moffat has his moments (Blink, Silence in the Library), but I think he's really stomped on the plot the last few years. And I miss what RT Davies contributed.

On a lighter note:

I absolutely loved the 5-ish doctors link slug provided earlier in the thread.

Now that's how to do corny comedy!

/Incidentally I can also provide expository critical analysis of Sesame Street, should the need arise.

Well, speaking as an old school Whovian I can say it was cool to see how they handled what they did.

This post is spoiler free, and has even more lemony fresh scent!

Zygons are a classic monster from the episode "Terror of the Zygons," a Tom Baker adventure. I have the book.
It was cool to see them again.

Regarding your comment about 4th:
[Hide]I've been trying to make a link between the young lady scientist with the Fourth's scarf and the"Fourth" add the curator. I've been wondering if perhaps she is a relative of some sort... Grand daughter or something... and had passed down his scarf to her.
The UNIT scientist's name was Osgood.

Back in the day, there was a UNIT soldier named Tom Osgood, could be related.

Here's some obscure stuff -

How soon will we be done with spoiler hiders? :p
