So i'm deodexing using the Ultimate method but i've gotten stuck at the command prompt. Upon entering adb shell I get the error "'adb' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file." Any help on what im doing wrong?

Edit:

So I figured maybe i'm supposed to change the directory to adb tools like durring the orig root. I did so but now when I enter the command "cp /sdcard/done_app/* /system/app/" it says there is no such directory. Now I know there is seeing as I drug it onto the card myself and double checked for it... Any Ideas?

Ran into trouble... Restoring with ClockworkMod Recovery.. I'm gonna owe that guy the $2 donation after this haha.

Edit 3: Figured out my issue I never switched it to PC mode I had kept it in Mass Storage. Makes sense... Now im stuck on the second to last command, the "mount" command... keeps saying system busy.

"mount -o ro,remount -t ext3 /dev/block/mmcblk1p21 /system
mount -o ro,remount -t ext3 /dev/block/mmcblk1p21 /system
mount: Device or resource busy"

I got the wife a car today, a new Ford Fusion, really nice! Talked about Android a lot with the salesman, he is buying his Android phone this week, either an epic 4g or an Evo. now we are out celebrating!
 
Thanks for resurrecting this thread! I'm fine.. just spent the day in NYC with my daughter, back from college for the weekend. :D We went to the Met Museum, where we saw a lecture on Met Unveils Ancient Israeli Mosaic - WSJ.com

The mosaic was amazing, but the lectures were boring because the speakers weren't really good at public speaking and they spoke bad English. Oh well. Had a good time, though. :D
 
has anyone tested there X with Quadrant Benchmark? its free and takes all of about 45 Seconds. I got a score of 1361 in battery saver mode with no cord and no restart in 2 days. After restart+Cord+performance mode I got 1441.

If anyone has done this test you should post the results i mean who cares but its fun to compare right? haha

Note: Broke 1514 With SetCPU*

If you are curious about scores check out the threads on tranquility, flyX, OTA changes, etc there are tons of scores in there.

But no I haven't tested mine. I really don't care about scores, I care about how my phone performs to me. I always push my phones to the limits and there are hacks to spoof these scores, so to me they are irrelevant.
 
They're not irrelevant if you don't hack the scores! ;) Honesty is the best policy! :)
 
Aha thats why I said "Who cares but its fun to compare right?" But thanks I didn't know about those. Also on a side note honesty is awesome! Another thing... People who fake their scores need to find some form of a goal in life after all they are just scores haha

I've been good, I had school today and didn't end up having work. I ended up taking a nap at like 3 because i've been so tired lately. (never really do that) it was nice. Anyways hadn't had a real break in a while. How are you man?
 
I'm doing well. Lots has happened phone-wise, for me, since we last spoke. I've learned how to root and to put roms and themes, sounds and boot animations. Not only am I doing this but my PM box is filled with folks asking for help doing it and I'm helping! I love it! Tonight I helped someone who was having a difficult problem. He was about to give up, but I suggested he update his motorola driver. That worked! :D Another satisfied customer! :)

I'm going on vacay next week, and, oh yeah. In about 20 posts I become the Android forums all-time high poster, higher than any person or bot. :D :D
 
You're right. I knew how to root using the 1 click method from the dx 2.1 days, but not to theme. I bricked my phone a few times and learned how to fix that, so I'm pretty much moderately familiar with the ropes, at least enough to be a guide to newbies who want to root. I understand their ignorant questions, having been one of them. I can explain stuff better, because I understand their need to be shown and to understand.

I'm a teacher in real life, dontcha know! ;)
 
Oh? What do you teach? I hope it isn't English you will HATE the way I murder it. I thought you rerooted after updating to 2.2? didn't you have to learn the old Droid 2 Terminal root to do that?

Having been a newbie is the best way to teach btw.

I rooted by using the 2.1 one click method. I'm now rooted by the method linked in my signature.

I am a private singing teacher, fyi. :)
 
no it did not work after 2.1. I used the one step method. It's different. :)
 
Huh. Can I get a link possibly so I can familiarize myself with it? Also how did you restore after brick? Bootstrap Recover? That's how i've done it. Not sure if their are other ways. I havent custom themed yet. I believe im deodexed but I dont know for sure (the last command refused to enter until i changed a part of it sooo who knows) i never ended up finding a theme i fully liked so I just kept the stock.
