still getting the error when trying to register vs910.dll. Error reads as follows:

The module "C:\Users\Tim|Desktop\VS910.DLL" was loaded but the call to DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x800200009.

For more information about this problem, search online using the error code as a search term.

When you removed all the stuff from the pc/laptop did you power off aka reboot the pc/ laptop before you tried the uploading again

It seems that you download the dll with the user control turned on it need to be off and when you right click you need to register the dll .

I did download before turning user control off, just redownloaded and tried to register, still the same error, or should I delete/uninstall everything then try again

I appreciate you trying to help brainz, but i've tried this and uninstalled and tried again at least 5 times. Looks like I'm not going to get this to work. Is there any other way of solving this problem?

if you find something i'd appreciate it, if you can't find anything I may just give it to my friend and have them take it to a metro store since it never got the new firmware update from this past summer, maybe they could update it even in its current state.

Well looks like all of this was of nothing, woke up today to try again, and the phone will not power on at all. The charging light or the battery charging screen doesnt come on when plugged into the charger. I have no clue what happened there, i did not do anything further to it since i couldn't. so really weird.

I would assume if it wont turn on at all that it is completely bricked and nothing can be done about it short of swapping out a new motherboard? wonder how much lg charges for an out of warranty repair?

Gave you a thanks for trying to help me

btw, i downloaded just the dll from that last link, still got the error when trying to register, i'm sure it is something i did wrong. I just don't know what it is lol

Bricked or dead battery did you charge it try and do a device reset holding the volume up/down and hold power button til it vibrate.once it vibrate remove your finger from the power button . And you should no what to do from there.

There is a faint pulse in the phones life. I was able to get the dll to register, had to do it manually through cmd. Phone still will not charge or power on but when I plug it into the computer and open lgnpst, it will detect it briefly. It gives me enough time to load the dll file and the tot file, then shortly after hitting start I get an errot that says cannot get binary version, phone is too old or communication problem. lgnpst will only detect it for about 30 seconds. It will detect then not detect over and over.

Ok if the phone wants to play hard ball you have to play harder ball with it i will show you how to put in download mode and you hit with lgpnst and it will hopefully hit

First pull the battery out of the esteem. Next plug the esteem up to the pc/laptop without the battery in the device do the button combo for the download mode . In the other hand insert the battery til u hear the computer sound also while your doing this have the lgpnst up on the screen without nothing running in the back and user control turned off.

Remove your battery and connect your phone via usb (the hard buttons on the bottom of the phone should blink slowly). **Make sure battery is at least 25% charged
Hold down power + vol up.
Phone will come on and read "downloading do not remove cord"or something to that nature. Put battery back in.
If you followed step 2 correctly, LGNPST will now show an unknown device and will be in emergency phone bookmode.
Under the emergency tab it will ask you for 1) a .dll file and 2) a phone book. Click on the folder icon next to .dll file and load the VS910.dll from wherever you have it saved. Click on the folder icon next to phone book. Navigate to the folder where you have saved the correct .tot file. in the "file name"box type *.* and hit enter. If you are in the correct folderyou shouldnowsee the .tot file, click on it then click "save".
Back on the LGNPST screen click on start. It should now say MASTERBIN and a percentage ticking up (if not you have done something wrong).

still doing the same thing, no download mode screen came on, lgnpst detected it, loaded the dll and tot file clicked start, after about 10 seconds got the same error as before.

Also my computer is recognizing the phone in device manager as qualcomm hs-usb qdloader 9008, did a little reading and was finding people saying that if the phone is recognized as that its pretty much dead. Not sure if thats true or not

You don't have something installed and it also show u don't have all the phone drivers i think you should reinstall the drivers for the esteem
