Root [GUIDE] Brick Recovery

Download Flashify from the play store

I'm failing to understand Flashify. I've rooted via LGRoot Script.bat, downloaded Flashify, but LG Volt is not an option in list to download a TWRP or CWR ROM.

Where do I go from here? I'm wanting a custom ROM but can't seem to get either recoveries through Flashify.

There's a link to download twrp in the first post. Put it on the root of your SD card and then install it with flashify

Thanks for clarifying...it's been about 3 yrs since I've done this on last phone and with so many different pages conflicting I missed the link to the TWRP.

Anyways, I got TWRP flashed as recovery now. So far I like the options compared to CWM. Now when I download cm11 to my SD, should I be doing a data wipe first (cache, data, dalvik) then reboot and load Cm11 from sd card or will it matter? If I remember last time i wiped the dalvik.

Thanks again.

Make a good backup first!!! I always backup my internal storage and wipe that too.... Everything but external gets wiped when I flash

How to you boys feel about this phones screen.. It's responsiveness is kinda shitty
What are you referring to by responsiveness? If you mean touch input, it's fine for me. Any delay in response is from the system being busy at the moment and unable to react right away, not any sort of input failure.

I guess I mean when I type the touch input can't keep up with my speed but especially the back button at the bottom it's like non responsive at times

You're being impatient I think. Remember, this phone only has 1GB of RAM, and 600 of that is used by the system. You can't expect an instant reaction to your input all the time. Especially if you're hitting back, the phone has to finish what it's doing, then execute what you wanted, which may include reloading something into memory. So, technically speaking, it's not an issue of the screen failing to register input, it's the phone not being able to react as quickly as you're wanting.

The Lollipop ROMs on here feel more responsive, partly due to the overclocking available in them. If you don't mind the other issues that those have, you may want to try them out.

Why is it that when I install the ROM (ZV5_Rooted_Deodex_Full.zip) and Radio then get a root checker app and it says the phone is not rooted? Did I miss a step?

No I had the same issues for some reason deodex is not rooted. He says to flash super user in your recovery but that didn't work for me neither so I'm using odexed right now

Ok cool. I thought I may have missed a step, but I will flash to the odexed ROM instead. Thanks!

EDIT: Worked! Thanks again!

So I did the upgrade to the deodexed ZV5, and I lost SuperSU, even though it is still listed as an app on my apps list. I click on it and it says it is not installed, and root checker says its not rooted. I followed the full guide, downgraded to zv3, upgraded using the twrp, factory restored, but now I dont have flashify, and I dont think I would have TWRP anymore. Do i have to start over and flash the ZV5 Odexed rom?
EDIT may have screwed up didnt install su zip

So it turns out the deodexed version cant be rooted atm, super su wont register, even if i do install it from recovery mode using twrp

Flash the super su zip. I'm running this deodexed version and it's rooted
when I install it from TWRP nothing changes; and i tried deleting it from the file manager on twrp but i cant. The supersu icon stays there on the apps section, and when i tap it, it says no supersu binary
