I'm still on zv3. will this work to give me permanent root? I tried the other method posted but it does not work.

First obtain temp root using kingroot then a flashing app such as flashfire to flash twrp to the recovery partition

I would but I don't have root I'm on zv4
that seems to be for the plus and one of the prerequisites is an unlocked bootloader which is not possible at the moment for the ls775

Man this twrp build is specially for the stylo2 not the plus one , i created it myself and i used the same thread template as the plus one it's why most think that it's for the plus , you can still give it a try with a locked bootloader..

Stay on ZV4 Roadkill... I will post download link just a little bit 4 the dirtycow binaries including the .bat and .dll files to put in your ADB fastboot folder with directions and commands to run.
Zv5 fixes the drammer exploit, ZV6 fixes the dirtycow exploit. But you should be good to go I've been running the dirtycow and the drammer combined and I'll post screenshots to show you my root but it didn't stick, but I'm still at a point where it's trying to fix the root authorization error... not saying there's no exploit available! Running a benchmark program to tac out the processor is not a fallacy!

This is not just for ZV4, ZV5, ZV6 people can still run it, have the included Drammer & Kingroot apk's installed and setup. You can look at my post above, I'm ZV6 but this I believe allowed Kingroot to get in some. I am at least at a point where root authorization can be attempted over & over & over and will be working on running something else to break this B***H!
Roadkill, since you are the only ZV4 posting on this page, please follow the directions closely, make notes of what happens and keep an eye on it over the next 24 if, if root is not achieved instantly!

Yes, if your ZV3, then the Kingroot.apk included should give you temp root.

Dude, ZV6.... go ahead and download, install the Drammer & Kingroot apk's, the Kingroot in it is BETA... completely different from what your using now. Run the adb commands and attempt, run Drammer in background before, during & after......... MAKE SURE you go under security, accessibility and stuff making Kingroot, Purity device admins, and have access. I now have gained temp root but lost it yet I am at the point of trying over & over to regain it. It lets them know in the Kingroot group and I'm going to explore further about anything that can break this last straw!

I flashed dolby atmos 2015 just google for the link..I dont remember the exact link. And it sounds great. After i altered the mixer.xml file to 94 from 84.

Its dirtycow, works on all android devices without the xploit patch...
References to the ZV4, ZV5, & ZV6 just mean xploit patch levels for the LGLS775ABB BOOST/Sprint variant I'm aware of.
The only restriction I've found is bootloader has to be 2.2 or higher which is basically the case with stock builds of MM

If you run the dirtycow exploit I posted link to with success it will be permanent root. At this point I was expecting someone to have taken 5 minutes to accomplish this. At that point messi should be able as well as myself & others to turn towards unlocking the bootloader.

Its a buildup to get to that point.
If your experiencing 'not found' issues something was not loaded. Start over from step 1, copying and pasting into cmd window helps prevent typos. Watch the output following each one, make sure no errors post. It does not always have a reply some of the commands will just get you to another $ prompt.
Please repeat, like it says in directions, whenroot is achieved the $prompt becomes a #prompt!

i set the permissions with es file manager and then tried remaining commands. when i issue /data/local/tmp/dirtycows /system/bin/run-as /data/local/tmp/cow-execute i get some text on screen then it dumps me back out to the command prompt and the phone reboots. screenshot attached.
